Unable to set an object ID

Does anyone have any ideas about this one? I don't think that this is a new bug, but another symptom of our ongoing problem with SPRepr and SPObject synchronization. Now it seems that any attempt to set the ID of an object via the GUI, either via Item Properties, or the XML editor, fails with messages like this: ** (inkscape:7718): CRITICAL **: Attempt to set id of bound SPRepr (0x8f98b34) without having registered the SPObject in the document's id table I know that some code could set the ID of the SPObject, too, but I fear that might break things further. SVG::Metadata Release 0.06

The 0.06 release of SVG::Metadata is now available on CPAN, here: http://search.cpan.org/~bryce/SVG-Metadata-0.06/ The change for this release is the addition of a --delete flag to svg_annotate, which removes any <metadata>, <rdf>, or <rdf:RDF> tags from one or more svg files (it also recursively processes directories, if specified). Gimp-print plugin for Inkscape

Hi everyone: This is an initial approach for a request of collaboration. I don't know speciffic developer data, I am just the messenger :) they are too busy. The Gimp-print plugin developer team is about to release a new big version. They are planning to divide a bit more the libgimpui so it can be used in other programs than The Gimp as a Gimp-print Plugin (it will be renamed as GutenPrint plugin) Now is Printer drivers+printing API and in a different package the GUI to print from The Gimp. The new idea is to make the plugin has a common component. Can Inkscape benefit from this? Screenshot Needed

Does anyone have a good idea for a new screenshot for our Freshmeat page? http://www.freshmeat.net/projects/inkscape/ IIRC, we generally change them each release, and try to make it something that reflects the newly added feature(s). It would be great if someone could work up a really artistically attractive one for this release! :-) If you've got something good, post it here. I think Ted has updated the screenshot before, so I think he may be the one that'll select what goes up. Bryce

Project Status - Thursday, July 1, 2004 We're in the final stages for the 0.39 release. Development work is tapering down as feature implementation work is completed or wrapped up for the release. We will be gradually "freezing" development, as follows: * June 28 - 'Feature chill' - no new features are started. Developers start wrapping up feature work and focusing on bug fixing. * July 5 - 'Feature freeze' - only bug fixing to occur after this point. Our goal is to eliminate critical bugs. * TBD - 'Hard freeze' - short period with no changes except under careful change control. We test the releases, and once we get one all we really like... * Release You can notice the fruits of the recent code cleanup in the reduction of code lines, while increasing comment line counts. The bug ratio, at 19%, has remained consistently low since our bug hunt; our feature ratio has also remained fairly constant since the start of the year, at around 75%. We've begun tracking stats on translations in this report; we hope to see both the translation ratio and the total number of PO files grow higher. It will most definitely not be the final release, but it is a good point to start beating up Inkscape. This is not for general use, but more for people who follow the development of Inkscape (being subscribed to this e-mail list is a good start :) I went ahead and put it in the SF file area with a big nasty note to scare away casual users. I think that it is as good of place as any... thoughts are welcome. --Ted
