Hi to all, playing with filters I notice usualy filters apply a 1.20 scale to the area of the effect with a negative ofset to center it. This is good for some filters but not for all, if I change it to 1.0 in a element, the effected element loose his bounding box in the stroke part -geometric bounds- is posibol to fix it to visual bounds or is a problem with the SVG spec? Hi Jabier, When I play with filters I always use geometrical bounding box because of that. I don't know if this is really an svg spec. The filters need often a lot of room to develop their effects. I tried to give each one the most convenient space around. Sometimes it's fairly large ! Creating CSS Dialog

Hi As double clicking any selector should open up the CSS dialog, I am trying to open CSS dialog in the _buttonEventsSelectObjs for GDK_2BUTTON_PRESS. I have registered the CSS dialog correctly. Calling the constructor of CSS dialog does not open it. Therefore, I am calling it as: _desktop->_dlg_mgr->showDialog("CssDialog"); // dialog opens Looks like verb associated with the dialog has to be used so that it shows up on double click. New font editing branch

Hi, I had reason to do a little font design using Inkscape recently and found a few pain points... which I have fixed. As we are in string freeze, I pushed the changes to a new branch which can be found at: bzr branch lp:~inkscape.dev/inkscape/font_editing In particular I changed the font editing dialog: 1. Allowed for fonts with other than 1000 units per em. 2. Allowed setting 'ascent', 'descent', etc. 3. Allowed setting individual glyph horizontal advances. 4. Fixed bug where 'units-per-em' was not read correctly. Feed back most welcome. Tav

Account request on the wiki

Hello all, I'm a quite new (several months have gone now…) French translator for the project, stealing progressively all the translation tasks to Mr jazzynico. I also work a little on the website project. I would like to get an account on the wiki, to be able to write glossary info for French as a first reason, because such a glossary would be very useful to other translators and I like to share the core nodes of my work. Other reasons would be trying to update/improve pages or correct their little mistakes, as I can't bear working with mistakes, obsolescence and non-compliance without attempting to correct them (I love the wiki system for that). Progress on Style Dialog

arcs in the path editor

Hi again, After some procrastination, I have found time to fix some issues with the arc editor feature I proposed a while ago. (See here: https://sourceforge.net/p/inkscape/mailman/message/31695400/) I have uploaded my latest changes to launchpad. https://code.launchpad.net/~danieljabailey/inkscape/arc_node_editor The new changes allow you to convert an arc to a bezier curve (simply by using the "make selected segments curve" button). I have also fixed the bug that was pointed out to me, which meant that an arc at the end of a path would sometimes become a straight line. I am facing one more issue however, when converting an arc to a bezier, some arcs cause a segfault. The easiest way to reproduce this is to convert a circle to a path and then try to convert the resulting arcs to beziers. (Arc to bezier conversion being the feature I recently added.) I seem to get the segfault on a line that sets the position of a bezier handle. This is in a function I have added, "PathManipulator::replaceSegmentWithPath". Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't. Valgrind and gdb have, surprisingly, not been particularly helpful. Any advice would be much appreciated, I'm not sure if I am re-implementing things that already exist by adding the replaceSegmentWithPath function. Perhaps there is already some code for this which I can use. Thanks, Dan.

bug 172063, "change the color of the Pen helper path" proposal

Hi to all. >From time ago we have in pen/cil handles a hack to make them more visible over items with the same color. I do some tweaks to make it a bit lighther and to use the same effect in lines and handle points. Comment #20 The question, is a good idea apply it to 0.92? If not, I sugest comment the code on current handles highlight. Also in the same bug, I do 2 XOR proposals but they are in early stage and pending to know if XOR affect too much in performance, actual XOR parts are more static than a helper line that can be fast moved.
