I have to choose what kind of UI to use for setting the size. Currently the symbols dialog uses buttons at the bottom, while existing swatches dialog provides menu with options to control the look. In addition to this, in my proposal [1] I sketched a dialog for TileView configuration, but now I see it using it would mean a lot of clicking. Review: C++ for Inkscape Core

Dear Developers, I've been asked to review a large patch by Liam which is an attempt to C ++ify the core of inkscape, removing inkscape-private.h and making objects. I'm going through the code as requested, but I feel this patch will need more than me to give it the OK. Can I request some of the bright peers working on C++ification to give the patch their blessings too? Undefined but declared hash<> template causing C++11 trouble

Hi Krzysz, The following lines in ui/tool/node.h are causing trouble with gcc 4.9 C++11: #if HAVE_TR1_UNORDERED_SET namespace std { namespace tr1 { template <typename N> struct hash< Inkscape::UI::NodeIterator<N> >; } } #endif Is it OK to remove those? If I comment them out, all seems to work fine. I cannot find the specialization definition anywhere, so seems only a fwd decl? regards, Johan

If you spot packaging problems (like version numbers that didn't get updated, or missing files needed for builds), please raise these problems with me ASAP. Bryce

Hello The last bug was fixed in the Windows devlibs, so I tagged the 0.48.5 release and posted the tarballs to Launchpad. They should be available for download now. https://launchpad.net/inkscape/0.48.x/0.48.5 As usual, the announcement should wait until packages for major platforms are ready. LPE on clip/mask - Bug 1241902

Hi all, Recently, a fix to Bug 1241902 was committed. But... I have second thoughts now. Do we really want to apply LPEs to clip and masks? Now, clips on a path with, say, LPE Sketch, works very weird. I now think that we really don't want to apply LPEs on clips/masks. cheers, Johan

Windows Compilation 0.91pre1

I am having some difficulty with the latest code (also for 0.48.5 series) which I didn't have before or didn't notice before. :) There are lot of places where M_PI and friends is/are used without it/they being in scope. In some files, M_PI is defined right in with #ifndef block. What would be the fastest way (other than modifying the source all over the place) of rectifying this? A lot of the Windows specific stuff is defined with the #ifdef WIN32 block. However, in my case it only works if it's _WIN32 and not WIN32. This of course I can pass on the command line to gcc. Would be nice if it was standard as say glib or gimp. Thanks, Partha

Optional hands on interface

Inkscape 0.48.5 - one bug left

I have applied the patches from most of the "backport-proposed" items in the bugtracker and the 0.48.5 release is almost ready to tag. The only thing left is this bug related to UniConvertor: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/656938 Can someone test on Windows and report on the status of this issue?
