This is going to be more casual than usual as I want to invite people to ask questions on the topic and discuss together our ideas. The topic I'd like to discuss is: What is Inkscape. Broadly an open source project can have many functions and many masters. Our project here has always been a very flat and inviting space for all sorts of contributors. Now that we are hiring a project coordinator, people would like to talk about what a project looks like when it has contributors who are paid by the project, volunteers, as well as people who are paid by outside companies. So how we can be a broad project to fairly accomodate all types of people. Can we identify when work is volunteer and when it should be a contract? Why have contracted work at all? Dear Leadership Committee, Following our successful vote to hire a project coordinator, I'm here to report the progress and the remaining process for this job posting. I spoke with Pono from the SFC to finalise the details and the process they would like. These include: * The creation of a private mailing list where applications can go. Marc has created jobs(a)lists.inkscape.org which is a list of the hiring panel, and pono and myself as observers. I think Marc is there too as list admin. * Creation of the complete job text here: https://inkscape.org/jobs/project-coordinator-2022/ which the SFC wanted us to host on our own website. Included modifications from the SFC are the sentence for "equal opportunity employer" and the final section in how to apply for the job. The schedule for the submission of applicants and review processes is in that final section. * The formation of three inkscape community members to vet applications. Tim, prkos and michele have volunteered and are added to the above list. ~ Process todo: Confirm pono is on the mailing list and is receiving emails. Give job posting to the Vector's team for publication, however they would like to do that. A news article, twitter, etc etc. I need two other PLC members to form the finalisation panel, to conduct video interviews once we have a short list. How do I invoke my.custom.extension by CLI

Hello all, this is my first post on this list. I'm not sure whether this is the place to ask, but couldn't find a better one. I chose to use inkscape for modifying vector-graphic-PDFs and convert them to PNGs and also to a varienty of PDFs with extra information in a background batch job. Basically this works well with official Inkscape 1.1 (c68e22c387, 2021-05-23) and the results are just as desired. Unfortunatelly there is some glitch with inkscape freezing every some hundred conversions. To track down the above freeze I decided to try the latest inkscape source and build it myself (Windows 10/Windows 11) to be able to debug it. I found that the current app (24f6795) does not obey to the same CLI. Calling --verb=my.custom.extension complains Unable to find: my.custom.extension verbs_action: Invalid verb: my.custom.extension I get the same error message if I try to invoke as -- actions=my.custom.extension. Both --action-list and --verb-list do not list any extensions. The extension is part of the menu, so inkscape seems to know about it. Commit 5e32ad5 "Menubar Filters + Extensions : Conversion to Actions" removes extensions from the verb-list. Various comments suggest that verbs are supposed to be moved to actions. Not sure whether that is the plan for extensions as well. So my question is: How can I invoke my custom extension from CLI in the current version of inkscape (24f6795926, 2021-12-25) or any later?
