Hello all, Thanks for the help. This email is just a gist of what I faced. The latest build 11962 builds just fine with devlibs r41 but not on TDM GCC 4.7.1. I faced a similar problem in getting the code to compile a few months back in August, when mathog found out that inkscape did not compile successfully using TDM GCC. He suggested Vanilla MinGW, which is the one I am using right now, and inkscape just builds fine. So anyone wanting to develop on Windows shall need: Vanilla MinGW as of now. (Personally I haven't tested the previous versions of TDM GCC, although Uwe Scholer has reported successfully building on Windows 7 using TDM GCC 4.6.1 :) ) For other components refer the Inkscape Wiki: http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Compiling_Inkscape_on_Windows I would like this information to be updated on the Inkscape Wiki. It shall help the beginners and save them time. Trust me, being new to OSD, and not being able to compile for days on end when you are following the instructions meticulously is demotivating. PS: TDM GCC 4.7.x (the latest) builds the code completely but inkscape.exe does not run. After the sandtimer cursor, nothing happens. -- demicoder

No Icons.

After a successful build, running inskcape.exe from the build directory runs but there are no icons for the tools. The image attached should clarify. Its a screen capture.[image: Inline image 1] -- demicoder

Hello, I update the SpiroLive branch to redraw spiro when mouse stop, no gaps now. In my 5 years old computer -debian- spiro redraw ok, now better whith the tolerance fix. If isn't enoft we can increase the tolerance level. Less tolerance show more fluid spiros, more tolerance spiro curve "jumps" more. I dont want to add a botton to show optionaly, because i think this function is basic while drawing, but if we decide to make optional y start whith this. Any more betatester ;) ?

Point in right direction, r11962 bugs

Hi guys, I'm trying to find a good python library to access the SVG DOM, similar to the way Javascript does it. Is there any lib around that you can recommend for that? pySVG, SVGwrite, pyjs is what I managed to find references to. pyjs seems to me to be the most complete. But I would figure that Inkscape does access the SVG DOM to manipulate objects as well? Am I missing something here? Cheers, Jelle P.S. As I can't post on the bugtracker (doesn't route in China for some reason), I'll post it here. r11962 win7 (without updates) Dropshadow tool As great as the new dropshadow color setting is, using the color picker to select a color will change the color of the parent object and the dropshadow rather than the dropshadow itself. Symbols Symbols are made using lines rather than outlines. Though I can understand why to do it that way (smaller size), it leads to problems when converting them to groups as lines will inherit not the settings from the symbol, but from the current line settings. I think all symbols should be created in outlines, similar to fonts, to prevent problems. I guess engravers will like it that way better as well, but not sure about that. I'm not sure if the symbol to group setting is supposed to behave like that either. Seems illogical to me. Fill bounded area's Is broken

You have bzr a merge error. Try reverting that particular file. Latest Version Not Compiling

Hello all, First of all, a very congrats to everyone for the new release. :). :D My inkscape trunk (revno 11962) does not compile with the latest devlibs. I faced a similar problem 2 months ago, there was some problem with devlibs' recent upgradation that was causing the trouble. I am working on Windows 7. Help needed and website redesign update

All, Sorry for the lag in updates regarding the site. It has been a bit depressing and I also have been extremely busy. In all honesty we had a great design and some extremely motivated people who started the project of redoing the website. As with all open source projects time and experience got the best of us (myself included). The website design was completed long ago and it looks great. It can be seen here http://en.dev.inkscape.org/ . We started the migration portion and that's about as far as we got. We had one backend mostly complete when we realized that that dev was unable to complete the project without a rewrite and sadly lacked the time due to school commitments etc. Next we had a second developer start rewriting the code and unfortunately due to time constraints is unable to finish. That being said I am open to suggestions but we need a strict time line to at least complete the basic portion of the inkscape site. That being said, We need help. The project was started both times in django, however was never completed. I also may even be open for consideration of Content management systems that would allow us to build in these features fairly easily and allow the site to contain the same functionality and UI. If you have any talent in the web development world. Please get back to me and lets get the ball rolling! I know the holiday's can sometimes allow time to tinker but they also can be difficult times as well. Please feel free to make suggestions on how you're able to help us complete the website redesign. Problems building current release on Windows XP with Devlibs41

Tried to upgrade today, found inkscape now needs devlibs 41. Got that, modified mingwenv.bat to point to it. Ran btool.
