I've been trying out the powerstroke too, and one of my thoughts on it actually involves poetry on how tragic it is for the sharp edge to be dulled so fast. In other words, I Love the edge, so I'm really sad when it gets cut off so soon. :P Is there a way to control the setting on how soon it gets cut off? I do like them long and sharp! So, other reports: - Thanks for fixing the grouping issue! I can submit a feature request for applying powerstroke to multiple items at the same time, but do people usually submit feature requests for features in the development version? It just seems a bit early. - I've noticed some instability in the rendering. If I do an interpolated powerstroke with multiple cusp nodes and start editing one of the nodes, another cusp node two nodes away (so not the neighbor) may start flickering between the interpolated and beveled states. I don't know how to reproduce this consistently though, and the terminal doesn't say anything strange. I'll try to reproduce it again later and see if I can attach a file. - Applying a stroke to the powerstroke will show lines "inside" at cusp nodes, but I think you already knew that. Still, this is shaping up nicely, and will definitely be an amazing feature for the next release!

Powerstroke cusps

Hi all, I've been working on cusps on powerstroked paths. And I've obtained a first success. The attached picture shows a comparison between how powerstroke strokes thick cusps, and how Inkscape does it normally (I suppose according to SVG spec). I think the powerstroke solution is more artistically pleasing, what do you think? :-) Cheers, Johan

I'd love a circular distribution, they're currently a pain to do. The main issues you'll have to solve are: 1. How do you define the rotation center? - This could be solved via a drop-down, like for example, "Rotation center: [Of top object]" 2. How do you define where the rotation starts and ends? 3. How do you position objects in-between? Define angles? Awesome! It seems we pretty much have the UI then! 1. Radial align as a new tab in the Align dialogue. 2. Relative to: - Objects center - First circle selected - Last circle selected - First arc selected - Last arc selected 3. Distribution types: Angular distribution: - Even distribution along circle/arc - Objects distributed at regular intervals as defined by the angle of the chosen arc Radial distribution types - Inside Circle - Along Circle - Outside Circle (with circle being either the circle selected, or in the case of "relative to objects center", defined using the object edge closest/furthest from the object center) I don't suppose we could add an "align along path" feature while we're at it? (hahah, one thing at a time...)

Contributing to Inkscape

Hi inkscape devs, I'm a bachelor student in computer science, and I would like to contribute to inkscape as part of a porject for a course I'm taking. The requirements are to add a feature to an open source project written in c++. The feature I had in mind for now, is to extend the Align and Distribute panel, by allowing also circular distributions. Let me know what you think, or if you have any suggestions. By the way, I'm currently getting a lot of namespace errors while compiling using gcc 4.6.3 on arch-linux 64bit. Is there a patch out there to correct those errors, or do I have to manually edit all the affected files? Thanks, Denis

You can snap the cross-hair around, but beyond that, no. Hi everyone ! I'm wondering if there is a way to resize a shape from it's cross center (the one set by the cross) like it can be done with the Mouse+Shift combination but by using the edit box of the toolbar (I need to increase the radius of a circle with precise value) ? If not, a tool to select the relative point to resize would be nice: [image: Images intégrées 1] About this, is there a way to reset the cross center to the shape barycenter ?

No problem, just testing things out to see what works and what doesn't. :) I don't think many people would want to apply powerstroke on a "group", per se, rather people may want to select a large number of existing strokes and be able to apply powerstroke to all of them at once. Precise Pressure

Hey all, A user asked me to test precise for tablet functionality since Oneric was a wipeout for artists. It looks like it's fixed in gimp and the data in inkscape's tablet tools looks good... but inkscape doesn't seem to be using it. Did someone switch it off? Martin,
