Textbox with coloured background?

Hi everybody, I searched lists etc., but didnt find an answer to a quite trivial question: I need a text box with a coloured background. It should surround the text in a adjustable distance; the background should expand when more text is typed into the text box. Sorry to bore you with such a stupid thing - cant belive this "feature" really is for the wishlist? Greetings, Wolf

Win32 build broken?

Hi, Apparently there's something broken in the current win32 build with the new devlibs r22. Without the devlibs installed (or in a different location), Inkscape returns an error message stating that libgcc_s_slj-1.dll can't be found, and then exists. With the devlibs installed, Inkscape launches as expected. Reproduced with the modevia's file (10216) and a local build (10215). No problem with the trunk revision 10204. Regards. -- Nicolas

Big thanks everyone for checking out and adding to 'Them Cuts'. Yes, alex valavanis (quite a few alexes here, :).. That is exactly how i feel the 'papercuts' are. Also, thats why i did not want to 'contaminate' the bug db before you girls and guys see it. Papercuts not really being bugs in a programming sense and all... is it ok then to add these to launchpad using 'papercut' tag? FYI: https://github.com/jave/inkmacs "When a dbus link is established from an emacs buffer to an Inkscape desktop, it is then possible to call inkdoc or inkverb methods on Inkscape. The inkverb-* methods are interactive and theres a lot of them. So ‘m-x inkverb-calligraphic-prefs’ in a buffer using inkorg-minor-mode for example, will bring up the calligraphy preference ui. The inkverb-* methods are mostly ui related and take no arguments. The inkdoc-* methods are related to object creation and manipulation and are not (yet) declared interactive. Finding the right Inkscape operation in Emacs can actualy be much more efficient than using the menus in Inkscape. Especialy if you use some M-x booster such as Anything or Icicles." Inkscape Papercuts

Hi everyone! Long ago I have mentioned a little observation process with a few Inkscape users and mentioned some 'papercuts' that showed up. As I have mentioned it before, papercuts are not quite bugs, so I have started to enter them in a somewhat structured manner at http://cuts.thinking-garment.com/. A bloggish, hideous website with bad humor on top and a missing search function, among other things. Time permitting, I will continue to add more from the notes I made way back. Of course I will try to see if they still apply to newer Inkscape versions. I hope this is useful in some way. Please feel free to suggest how/where/why this could be more useful. Excuses for being so dreadfully slow. Alex

Sorry everybody, yes, this is no question for the developer list - but as I'm not subscribed to any user forum, maybe somebody could drop me a quick line. How can I change any node to a corner node, not using the menu, but with a keyboard shortcut or a <key>-click combination? Thanks and greetings, Wolf
