Help Needed: Memory/address problems

Dear Devs, In a clean up on gradient/sp-stop code[1] I've gotten it all working, but for the style-test program itself which crashes with a stack guard error "stack smashing error". The problem only appears if you compile with `-fstack-protector` which is default ON for Ubuntu, but is not for windows and other OSes. I attempted to use Valgrind (with --tool=exp-sgcheck) but that crashed too. Possibly because of the stack-protector which I can't seem to turn off. I wanted to also try `-fsanitize=address` to winkle out the problem, but I have no idea where to add CFLAGS in CMake/ninja. So without being able to try other build options, I'm very lost. It is also a home for other project contributors. Please come and check it out! No registration is necessary to view conversations, but to join in, one needs to follow these steps: 1. wiki page about coordinate frames

Hi, I'd like to add this scheme to the wiki: http://www.thomas-holder.de/tmp/inkscape-frames-of-reference.svg However, uploading SVG is not permitted, I'm getting this error: "Upload warning: .svg is not a permitted file type. Permitted file types are png, gif, jpg, jpeg." I've found two wiki pages which address coordinate systems: - http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/CoordinateSystems Old (2005), but mostly correct - http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/UI_and_Document_coordinates This one is linked from the Main page but was deleted!? "Perspective path" LPE

Hi, Does anyone know how the "Perspective path" LPE is supposed to work? Is it functional? I already asked Jabier, but he also doesn't know. I'm asking because it uses hard coded desktop coordinates that I would fix if I knew how to test it. This LPE is in the LPE_ENABLE_TEST_EFFECTS section. Location path for an imported figure

Dear All, I am finding `Inkscape` a really good tool for importing `PDF` or `EPS` scientific plots into a blank page, and then place arrows on top of the graphs, text, make scientific drawings assemble them in the desired location and then save as a unique PDF page that can then be included as a unique `figure` in a `latex` document. Let's imagine an inkscape project that has assembled 10 plots, imported from these folders: /path1/plot_1.pdf /path2/plot_2.pdf ... /path10/plot_10.pdf We already know that in /path1/ there is also the python, gnuplot, etc source code that produces the PDF plot, for instance: /path1/plot_1.py /path2/plot_2.gnu etc Most of the times I need to continue working over the original PDF plots that I once imported into a inkscape project I made back in time. For example, change the scale and the title of the plots, and so on. In other words, I need to go to the original source code (gnuplot, python, etc) that produces those plots that have been assembled in the inkscape project. In these situations, while having the nice inkscape project in the screen with all the plots 1 to 10, it is quite hard to remember where is the location of the original PDF plot. As far as I am concerned, there is no option in the inkscape interface that allows you to know which is the original location path of the PDF plot that was once imported into the inkscape project. The closest solution I could find is the following: every time I import a new PDF of EPS, I right click and and create a link which is basically a copy-paste of the location path of the figure. This solution is quite tedious and most of the times one forgets to create the link. Once the image is imported, the next natural step is to resize it and locate in the desired place, and it is very easy to forget to create the link. For instance, if this multi PDF plots assemble project was made in Latex, the location path of all the plots would be perfectly identified, i.e. in the `\includegraphics` line. I was wondering if it is possible to check an option in the importing process that would allow to automatically write the location path of the figure somewhere. Or any other strategy that would automatically write the location path every time a plot is imported. Would this be difficult to implement ? Thanks a lot for all your help, All the best, David

Mr. Grady is still on the offensive, and is getting defensive too. He says: "Please folks, I don't care who someone is. If someone is engaging in discussions, especially helping a new Inkscape user learn and your only contribution is to troll the person offering the help, expect to at least have the posts deleted. If that's kind of your modus operandii around here, then you'll eventually get kicked." Of course, still denying his role in the issue. I'm still blocked, and see nothing but excuses from Mr. Grady, still treating our Inkscape feed like his personal property. Solutions? Thanks for the attention to this matter. -C

Hey folks. I'm going to do a writeup of the hackfest to accompany and help finish the video content. If each of the hackfest attendees could answer these questions for me, I'll combine all of it into the hackfest summary. 1. What did you work on during the Kiel hackfest? 2. What do you consider the best benefit to being at the Kiel hackfest this year? 3. What were the most fun things or things you most enjoyed about the hackfest? 4. Did your hackfest activities extend beyond the hackfest? 5. Did the hackfest increase your motivation to work on the Inkscape project? 6.
