No, that one is definitely part of the calligraphic tool - it draws calligraphic strokes with all the same parameters and modes as usual, except they are guided. The thinning/thickening is quite different from that - it does not draw anything at all. Its only connection with the calligraphic UI is that it uses 10x of the calligraphic pen width as the thinning brush width, but it's a poor UI anyway because it's not very obvious. Effects error dialog

Could someone puh-lease help me. I'm translating the python extensions to use lxml and the effects error dialog is really driving me nuts. It is modal and it doesnt' stay ontop of the inkscape window. This makes it the most annoying dialog ever. This is a Win32 problem. I run and effect that generates an error. I switch to a text editor to fix the error. I click back on inkscape and the error windows is below inkscape so I have to minimize all the other windows and then move inscape to the left or two the right to read or close the dialog. To make matters worse the dialog is always placed in the middle of the inkscape window, so I have to move inkscape every time. I tried to hack the dialogs ontop hack for this dialog and failed. Help needed on OS X

Hello all, To solve a bug I need a little help from the community. I would need the output of this command: ls -l /usr/X11R6/lib/libXine* Just copy paste the line above in a Terminal and then copy paste the output back in an email. I would need this information from users with 4 different setups: - 10.3.* (Panther) with X11 installed (X11User package) - 10.3.* (Panther) with X11 and X11-SDK installed (X11-SDK is available in the developer tools, when you install XCode and such) - 10.4.* (Tiger) with X11 installed (X11User package) - 10.4.* (Tiger) with X11 and X11-SDK installed (X11-SDK is available in the developer tools, when you install XCode and such) Thank you in advance for your help. I added a class called SPTRefReference, similar to SPUseReference. It extends URIReference. When I try to instantiate it in my tref struct's init function (tref->ref = new SPTRefReference(SP_OBJECT(tref));), just as the SPUse struct does, it won't link. Something about missing definition for SPTRefReference's vtable. Anyone know what step I am missing? Probably something small or maybe related to this particular compiler (which I have not used before; at least not on Windows). Much appreciated, Gail

<use> Element

Hi all, In my quest to implement <tref> I have been examining the <use> element. In its implementation, there are several members related to the connection it makes to the element it wants to use. I'm trying to sort out which of these is necessary because it seems that there is some duplication. SPUse has the following as members: gchar * href; SPUseReference *ref; sigc::connection _delete_connection; sigc::connection _changed_connection; sigc::connection _transformed_connection; But SPUseReference is in fact a subclass of URIReference. Does having this make the other members redundant to a point? Similarly, SPTextPath uses a subclass of SPUseReference called SPUsePath, which contains all the same sigc::connection stuff that is stored in SPUse. Is it possible that SPUse could strip itself of the connection stuff and maybe even the href (not sure exactly the need for that one) by replacing the SPUseReference with SPUsePath? Most importantly, is there any reason that SPTRef could use SPUsePath to refer to the element it will take character data from? Thanks, your help is much appreciated :) Gail

I will definitely need coaching, I looked at gradient-vector.ccp and I don't get it. Can someone point me to the part of the code responsible for the layer preview right at the top of the Gradient Editor dialog?
