The file attachment which was sent by "inkscape-devel-admin(a)lists.sourceforge.net" was infected with the "document.pif Infection: W32/Mytob.AT@...1173... (exact)" virus. The file attachment was deleted from this message.

So, apparently there is enough interest in SVG whiteboarding over Jabber to have a mailing list! http://mail.jabber.org/mailman/listinfo/whiteboarding I'll be there, it would be nice if people that knew more than me would be too (David, Mental, etc.) I'm still planning on writing up what we have as a first draft JEP, I thinking starting the mailing list was Peter Saint-Andre's way of pushing me to get it done :) I'm sending an "Intro to Inkscape" e-mail right now, we'll see what response that gets. Apparently there is a project in JFCom to build a whiteboard... --Ted

Inkscape allways crash on startup,Why????

Hi, i use OpenSuse 10.0 and Inkscape allways crash on startup. I had this error with different versions from Suse and also with a 0.43+devel (Jan 27 2006) compiled on my host I run it under Gnome and i dont have the problematic KDE Baghira theme and the package gtk_qt_engine installed. I have post this problem a few weeks before but found no solution. Linked vs Embeded

We've been having a discussion in #inkscape about the feedback (almost complaints) about the way inkscape links to images by default instead of embedding them as a document creator would expect. The solution on balance we got to was: New Menu Item File->'Place Image' (same name used as adobe) which links to the image Change Menu Import to embed image data by default Add an ask box for when images are dragged and dropped for weather the images should be linked or embedded.
