Okay, I'm done reorganizing trunks, tags, and branches in SVN. Here's how things have changed around: https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/inkscape/trunk/$module -> https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/inkscape/$module/trunk https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/inkscape/branches/$branch/$module -> https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/inkscape/$module/branches/$branch https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/inkscape/tags/$tag/$module -> https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/inkscape/$module/tags/$tag For example, to check out inkscape's "HEAD" used to be: https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/inkscape/trunk/inkscape Now it's: https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/inkscape/inkscape/trunk Note that you will need to explicitly specify the checkout directory name if you don't want it to be "trunk" (you probably don't). That means that, in order to check out into an "inkscape" directory, you now do: svn checkout https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/inkscape/inkscape/trunk inkscape Any questions? -mental

Duplicate /js tree

Hi, all, I don't know why a duplicate /js directory appeared after the migration, but of course it is unnecessary. I am removing the one in /extension/internal/scripts. This is because Perl and Python in that directory are embedded via SWIG, which doesn't seem to support Javascript anymore. JS more properly belongs with /dom anyway, where is is being embedded directly. I did a make after this delete with no problems. If anyone has a problem, let me know, or feel free to hack the Makefile_insert thingy for it. Thanks to <rwst> for telling me about this. bob

Dev Group: When I work with SVG, I generate as much of it as I can, then I hand edit. I use a lot of tools while I'm doing this. I was a draftsman ages ago, I'm a spec author, and I'm very fussy. I've written a few graphics viewers and editors and use most of the available ones from time to time. So I'm a pretty educated user, I don't have much patience for tools that seem broken. I find the InkScape UI to be intuitive (for me anyway) and a pleasure to use. I hate reading docs, and I haven't read any of yours yet. I did look at them though, they look great, and the ability to experiment with features right in the help docs is a killer app. FWIW, I just felt like dropping a line to say that you're doing great work, a huge asset to the SVG community. -- Cheers! SVN migration

Unless anyone objects, I'd like to bite the bullet and just haul everything over into SVN. SVN is not _that_ different from CVS, so I don't forsee a huge adjustment period. - get everyone with stuff pending in their CVS working copies to get themselves to a good stopping point and commit - turn on SVN - freeze CVS - wait a day or two for everything to settle - migrate repo to SVN - continue development in SVN; leave CVS frozen -mental

Hi, all, Well, it looks as though the Subversion beta test is beginning and we will be able to use it soon. Here is the notice that I received in the mail today. Note that it mentions the requirement of actually enabling it via the admins' page. Could one of the bosses turn it on? This is going to be so very nice. gtkmmified preferences dialog

I have just committed a patch for the gtkmmified preferences dialog it's not finished but it's ready to replace the old dialog. Todo: -Enable opening of dialog by doubleclicking toolbar buttons. -Add access keys to all labels and widgets (HIG chapter 10) -Add icons to the pagelist -Fix bitmapoversample (add to preferences-skeleton.h) -Change dialog title to Inkscape preferences (HIG chapter 3) -Move menu entry for inkscape preferences from file to edit menu. (HIG chapter 4) -Add dialogs.showclose preference -Investigate this http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=14240882 About Adding access keys to all labels and widgets, this would break all translations so i'd like to know if we really want this before i go ahead and do it.
