font not working

Hey guys! I've a font consisting of 18 styles... it's in pfb as well as afm, pfm and inf format. I've not clue, which files I actually need, but I think the pfbs are the ones, because they have a preview :) Anyways, when trying to use them in Inkscape I see the list with all the different styles, right as one would expect, on selecting the font. However, the styles aren't rendered properly. Is it an Inkscape or an Pango bug? Abiword and OOo skrew up as well, but after all they can't handle that many styles anyway. Scribus doesn fine. problems with linked offsets

Inkscape version: 0.43 (Debian package, i386) If you create a "linked offset", and then move the primary object to which that offset is linked, the offset moves FARTHER (in the same direction) than the primary. Watching this process in the XML editor, it appears that moving the primary inserts a "translate" block into the SVG code for the offset, which was not initially present. If this tag is removed, the offset will then recenter on the primary at its new location. Rotating the primary creates similar problems. The linked offset will NOT rotate, but it does move around, although in this case the "translate" tag does not appear in its SVG code. I don't know whether this behavior is intentional or not; to me, it seems kind of disfunctional, like some vector transformations are being applied in the wrong order or something. It's easy to reproduce; it happens every time. So is this behavior a bug, or a "feature"? -- Ian Bruce

UberConverter

Hi all, I'm nearing completion on the xar2crs, crs2xar, svg2crs, and crs2svg connectors which represent the xar <-> svg conversion for the UberConverter. I threw together a build script today. If anyone feels like testing, now would be a good time to checkout from the svn and start playing with it. You'll need svn, perl, Module::Build, and svn co http://scratchcomputing.com/uc/trunk/ uber-converter/ cd uber-converter/code/perl/ perl Build.PL ./Build ./Build install --install-base=/tmp/uc/ PATH=$PATH:/tmp/uc/bin/ PERL5LIB=/tmp/uc/lib/perl5/ svg2crs foo.svg | crs2xar > foo.xar The "perl Build.PL" step should complain if you're missing prerequisites. Assuming you have the cpan command-line client, you might just: cpan XML::SAX cpan YAML cpan Compress::Zlib cpan Class::Accessor cpan SVG cpan Test::More cpan CAD::Calc cpan CSS::SAC::LexicalUnit cpan CSS::SAC cpan Math::Vec Let me know if the build process gives you any trouble. I'm sure there are still some gaping holes in the code itself, but I thought some of the braver souls might be interested in trying things at this stage. ERROR WITH INKSCAPE 0.43-2 (this one has the screenshots-sorry.)

I am using Windows ME to try to load INKSCAPE 0.43-2 after installation - but it crashes. All that I get instead are the following error messages back to back: PANGO ERROR**:file shape.c:line 75 (pango_shape): assertion failed:(glyphs-> num_glyphs > 0) aborting... "Then after that I get": PANGO ERROR**:file shape.c:line 75 (pango_shape): assertion failed: (glyphs-> num_glyphs > 0) aborting... Pango warning (recursed)**:Couldn't load font "MS Sans Serif 8" falling back to Sans 8" aborting... I am attatching screenshots of these errors as they appear on my screen. WHAT IS CAUSING THIS AND HOW CAN I MAKE IT STOP? - IS THERE A CORRECTIVE PATCH OR SOMETHING? I can't even get INKSCAPE to load - PLEASE HELP ME! export dialog breakage

Lately the export dialog got broken: you can't click on Selection, it always goes back to Custom with some wild w/h values. It's basically unusable because of this. There were no suspicious commits to export.cpp so the problem is elsewhere. I'm very busy with work right now and cannot investigate further. I would really appreciate if those who did many commits lately (especially rwst and cth103) could check if some of their changes were the reason. Thanks! -- bulia byak Inkscape. Adding Buttons

How do I add a button to the toolbar?? I'm interested in developing measuring tools for inkscape, and for testing i need to add a button. ¿any hint? I've been looking into the sources but no idea where to add a button...
