1.4.2 release plan

Hi all ! After the issue on 1.4.1 which prevents offering it to mac, we discussed the plan to release a 1.4.2 with few fix soon, which will mostly contain changes from 1.4.1 and a few additional fixes. Ideally, we will make it ready for the beginning of may, to be announced and made available on the day vectors will see preferable :) Hence, - we are now in string freeze for development (easy to check fixes can still be merged if they don't break strings) - I'll merge translations done on translate.inkscape.org (1.4.x) or in-repo doc updates on May 7th and generate installers on May 8th If there is any concern, feel free to voice them, we can adapt. The project aims to recognize and acknowledge "glue work" in Free and Open Source Software projects. Glue work includes essential tasks such as mentoring, maintenance code, bug fixing, and documentation, which are critical to the health of FOSS projects but often go unrecognized. Professor Sarma has a distinguished history of contributions to the FOSS community. Her work includes projects like Palantír, which raises awareness among configuration management workspaces [2], and Tesseract, an interactive visual exploration tool for socio-technical relationships in software development [2]. She has also focused on making FOSS more inclusive by identifying errors in user interaction design [3]. Being a pre-release, this version is not intended for production use, but to help us smooth out any issues that should not show up in the actual release this summer. Hi, sorry I did not know who to contact for it so I am mailing to the lists. In the https://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/Release_notes/1.4, under New User Interface - ( Experimental and Optional ), where it says "If it is activated under Edit > Preferences > Interface > Dialogs : Text and Font dialog" should say "Edit > Preferences > Tools > Text Tool : Text and Font dialog". (at least for the released official beta, the option is there) Kind regards. -José
