Then I figured out that they were always being created with an offset of 0 (zero). Is this the way it is supposed to be? Should there be a default of some distance to offset? Are some of us simply not using this tool correctly? Simple inset/outset commands displace the path by 2 points by default. Inset/outset path, what do they do?

Hi, I'm trying to find a correct translation (to spanish) for the "Inset path" and "Outset path" menu items but I can't figure out what they exactly do. I've been able to have a look at Freehand 10 and saw that it has the "Inset path" option under the "Modify/Alter Path" menu. I think this was translated as "Ampliar trazo" in the spanish version which means "Expand path" or "Extend path". Does this make sense? Would the "Outset path" command then be "Reduce path"? Color Palette

Hi. Some time ago I've developed a simple palette selector, much like Corel Draw's. Users can load The GIMP palette files, scroll, and pick a color using standard GTK+ color selector. Maybe this could be of use to Inkscape. Screenshot here (the page is in portuguese, though): http://www.dots.ro/mindcrisis/palsel.php It has been already ported to GTK2 (although the screenshot shows the early GTK1 version). Pango on Win32 only handles TrueType fonts, and is probably overly verbose when it can't find a font...
