Yours is nice visually (is it your artwork?) but I'd like it to show not just the layer menu but the newest layer menu which would show some of the layers grayed out (hidden) and some in [] (locked). Can you please do that? Best of all in 1280x1024 resolution which is what other screenshots use, but this is not necessary. And a request for everyone: One feature we really need showcased for 0.41 is the color tracing. Can someone please do it? HIG - Access keys in dialogs

Jizzbug, In reading the HIG I notice it specifies that labeled widgets in dialogs must have access keys in their labels. See for example, http://developer.gnome.org/projects/gup/hig/2.0/images/controls-spin-box.png http://developer.gnome.org/projects/gup/hig/2.0/images/controls-text.png In each, the first letter of the widget is underlined to provide use of access keys. To my knowledge, this has not been done for any of the Inkscape dialogs so far, but it seems like a good usability enhancement. Bryce

However, both sodipodi and my colleague's copy of Adobe, which also loads the file, seem to chop off the image (which is very wide) at its left and right extents - so perhaps they don't really load the whole file. Perhaps I'm just asking too much & should make my files smaller? Thanks again, gav. P.S. Thanks go both to Arpad for organizing translators, and to Josh for bringing the AUTHORS file up to date. Now is also a good time to take a look at the tutorials and man page for any updates needed. Feature Freeze for 0.41

Hi all, We will be entering feature freeze mode today, Jan 26th, as mentioned in the bug status message on 1/24, unless anyone has any objections. At this point, changes to the codebase should be restricted to bugfixing activity. If you have feature work still needing wrapped up, please try to do so today. For the next couple of weeks, if you wish to continue to do development work while the release is coming together, you're encouraged to do so on a branch or in the experimental module. See Wiki for details. Around Feb 1st, we'll switch to a hard freeze mode. At this point the focus will narrow to showstopper and packaging bugs. We'll be putting out release candidates at this point for folks to test out. The final release will probably come a few days after the hard freeze, assuming everything goes well. Thanks, Bryce

Inkscape icons and resolution

Hi all, This is just a random thought: is it possible for the icons to be differently stroked depending on the resolution? For example, I think many of the icons look much crisper (to me, at least) if I decrease the stroke width. However, if I go to a higher resolution display, they will perhaps look too "broken". -Ashwin

New sections on export slicing and radial tiling are added to the top of the tips&tricks tutorial. The radial tiling one is big, and I know I need to write a whole new tutorial on clones and tiling and move that section there, but I don't have time right now. The radial placement trick was asked by two people, however, so I thought I'd write it up.

Question about translation

Hi, Arpad warned me about the imminent 0.41 freeze, so I started updating the spanish translation. There's a new feature called "Shift" which appears in strings like: "Horizontal shift per each column (in % of tile width)" What does this exactly do? Is it a movement of the tiles?
