lock icon in the selection mode

It seems counter-intuitive to click the lock icon and then when scaling from the dragbars to not have the aspect ratio locked as well as when entering numbers manually into the input field. I think that once that lock icon is clicked, that it should turn red or something and then lock the handles on the selected objects to scale at the current aspect ratio. FYI. all-clubs bug

I think i fixed the all-clubs bug in marker previews. Please test and report. The bad thing is that the dialog takes quite some time to show up initially. Add new marker

Hi, how can I add new marker to inkscape? I found the markers.svg and copied the last "<marker>..</marker>" and changed the "id" and the "inkscape:stockid". But it doesn't work. Can I do that without recompiling? One file for all Markers is not very user friendly because you can't share easily new markers with other users. MfG Tobias

* The Fill and Stroke dialog is made simpler and more usable by removing some obsolete options, shortening labels, using smaller and more descriptive icons, and adding mnemonic hotkeys and tooltips. The dialog now remembers and reactivates the color selector tab you were using last. C++ features with NRObject

Just a quick heads-up to a change I made a couple days ago -- it's now safe to use any C++ feature with NRObject-derived classes provided that: * you still use NRObject functions to manage the object's lifecycle * there is an unbroken chain of C++ inheritance between the clas an NRObject * a class which is directly instantiated or used directly with RTTI needs to have NRObjectClass::cpp_ctor overloaded for it -mental

As a workaround, go to Inkscape Preferences (if you're using CVS), Transforms, and click on "Store transformation: preserved". flipping with gradients

Hello! When I flip an object, I'd expect all gradients to flip the same way, but they don't! it's the same with "rotate 90 degrees" and rotation by handles; gradients stick to the same orientation. As it works now, flipping an object horizontally does not give me the exact mirror image, since most gradients now look funny. Is there a technical reason for this behavior? I find it kind of counter-intuitive. Otherwise, inkscape is developing amazingly well! I'd love to contribute to the project, if only with examples of artwork. Cheers, Johan Forsberg
