I found out about inkscape less than a week ago and so far have found it a brilliant program to use. I am sending to you an icon I have created for it (for use in gnome). I figured you might like to start a collection or similar. Thank you for this program. Incidently I did also try sodipodi and I realise that they are from the same source originally. I chose inkscape though because I preferred the interface. I thought you would also like to know that I found inkscape to be very, very easy to use. I have already started on my own icon set as a result. Again thank you and the rest of those who are working on this program. Gerwood Stewart (p.s. do what you will with the icon).

Inkscape strings

Hi, I have a few questions about some of the translatable strings in the Inkscape sources: "Ratio of tip and base radii of points" (src/toolbox.cpp) What's "base radius" and "tip radius"? Does "point" mean "corner" here? ---------------------------------------------------- "You cannot group objects from different groups or layers." (src/selection-chemistry.cpp) "You cannot raise/lower objects from different groups or layers." (src/selection-chemistry.cpp) "You cannot combine objects from different groups or layers." (src/path-chemistry.cpp) First of all, what do you mean by "layer"? Taking a look at the sources it seems that what we really mean by these 3 strings is something like "objects with different parents". Probably these strings could be worded a bit better. You can't raise a grouped item (without raising the rest of the group), but you can raise the whole group, right? The "raise" string talks about "different groups", which does not apply to this case. This string needs rewording the most (of the 3 above). If you select a grouped item with Ctrl, you can't group it together with an ungrouped item, but you can group the group itself with that ungrouped item (right?). Arg...I tested the newest Industrial theme which was giving us this problem and it seemed fixed. I do believe this is a problem with some themes, as others work. Could you tell me what theme you are using, your system, etc, so that I can look into this further. crash in IntLigne::Copy on windows

Fred, SF tracker is down so I'm writing you directly with another bug :) Since after 23rd, Inkscape on Windows started to crash when doing node editing or freehand drawing. The crash is not instantaneous, but it 100% happens after a few motions. Freehand crashes while you're still drawing a line which is not yet finalized, so this crash has to do with ctrlline rendering and not the regular renderer. Vector Aesthetics Presentation
