Ellipse to path

Hi to all. I have a problem if I convert a ellipse to path. The path value have a "d" value. It render ok, but if you move a node and come back to original position the "d" property of the path is diferent. It give me some problems accessing to the Geom::CubicBezier of the original path segment, it give me a false cubic segment. rev 13276 build broken ?

Hi after Makefile.am change I did a fresh bzr branch lp:inkscape ./autogen.sh ./configure make but make does not run as ./configure is not completed properly so what to do? Adib. --

New LPE envelope-perspective

Hi. I create a new branch[1] with an LPE to apply envelope or perspective to a object by 4 points. Perspective, is migrated from original extension from Dmitry Platonov/Aaron Spike to C++. Envelope is created by the compose function '2dsb2d' and based in Lattice/lattice2 code Both are managed only by a simple 4 point parameters. Help with "ghost" object after cloning

Hi all, I am trying to fix this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1299461 What I see is some weird behaviour. It seems a "ghost" object is lingering around after creating a clone. What I see is that after cloning a path, every change to that path now triggers /two/ calls to SPPath::set. The second call is on an SPObject with no id set (getId() == null), but it's repr points to the original path (1st path id == 2nd path->getRepr()->attribute("id")). This second object is triggering an LPE calculation before everything is set up correctly, leading to the bug reported. I don't know how this ghost object arises, and I believe it should be killed. At the very least it is triggering duplicate operations; and at worst, it bugs normal operation. thanks for some help, Johan

HSL values

Hi everyone, Just a suggestion for development of Inkscape, I notice using it that HSV values are in range of [0,256) and I just wanted to suggest that this be corrected. Basically, because "hue" numbers are an angle in the HSV colourspace hexagon/circle, hue should be out of 360 Also, "saturation" and "value" numbers are percentages, so having them out of 256 doesn't really make any sense from a conceptual point of view. Object Module

Hello Manuel, If I understand you correctly, what you want to achieve is some kind of object management tool in which you can select objects by their ID tag and do things with them, like change attributes or style, rename them, walk the object tree by expanding it, add events, etc. If it is anything like the object manager you can find in Coreldraw for instance I think that would be a great addition. It could also serve as an alternative display for the XML editor that displays the file structure and nested objects by tag name rather than ID. It would be nice if for instance you could select an object (such as a group) by ID (using a filter for instance with reg exp. or part of the ID name) and then have them show as selected in the drawing on the canvas. It would also allow for objects in the defs to be found more easily and maybe bring them to the body by just dragging them. It would also make for an interesting option if for instance filters, gradients and fills in the defs could be displayed in a list with a simple representation. Using the symbol tool for example code would show how to create the displays of those. Filters probably being the more difficult as they won't display anything without a background, so for each of those a primitive background would need to be defined. If that could be extended with an option to open an external file next to it as to drag and drop elements by either <use> or copy to the file being edited, you'd have created a real power tool. Hi, I just suscribed to the mailing-list because it's been a long time I 'd like to contribute to Inkscape but I don't know exacty how to proceed and what to do. I have skills in programmation, but I never studied such a large project and so I feel completely lost when I browse the source files for example. So I'd like to know what is the recommended way to discover Inkscape organisation. Is it helpfull to begin with plugin development or is it so different than it will not help me understanding the code structure ? Are there simple little tasks that I could try to achieve in order to get more familiar with it ? Tasks that would not require a complete understanding of the entire code. But I can also help in other way than patching the core soft, with some web dev or translation. I suscribed to the translator mailing-list too but I don't know exactly how it works, how to find what to translate, etc. For example the new next-release page has obviously not been translated in French (which is my mother language) but what am I supposed to do if I want to translate it ? Please excuse me if I just missed the place where all this information can be found ! Best regards, Elie

what I would like is to add modules that allow you to work on something specific, in this case draw outside plant telephone, which allows you to draw lines, utility poles, booths, terminals, etc.. But these are already established in INKSCAPE. As such I would like to remove a cable, then I click on the function and the cable I want to delete. This is possible, but would like to know what you think and if you are agree to add these features. Tranks you!!!

Reporting build Issues

Is it worthwhile reporting building issues against the latest launchpad (thanks to Josh Andler for pointing it out to me) tarballs or simply wait for the next revision hoping it's fixed?
