pdflatex use case

Hi All, I am very grateful to Johan for the excellent work he did putting a Latex export into 0.48. In my use of Inkscape/Latex, I maintain a sub-directory with the figures in... indeed, sometimes I maintain a sub-directory for each chapter, each with a figures directory. This use doesn't play well with the export as it stands currently. The Latex export assumes that the figure is in the same directory as the calling latex document. I would like to ask if the directory that the exports reside in could be specified from Inkscape. I would like, for example, to make mine './ chapter1/figures'. The output .tex from latex would then append this to the image path called by 'includegraphics'. A text field on the export dialogue is one possibility (but I appreciate that dialogue is already busy). Please let me know any if you require any further detail or work on this proposal, Richard

three patches regarding batch export, layer selection and xml-editor

Hi List, I've been a happy user of Inkscape, and now I needed some tweaks. I attach the patches against the current svn head, and brief description for them: (1) mutual_hide_on_png_export.patch This adds a new checkbox to the Export dialog if multiple selection is present. Ticking it hides not only non-selected items, but also other selected items on export, therefore the different items don't iterfere with each other. (2) xml_editor_jump_to_element_on_layer_select.patch If a layer is selected in the Layers dialog, the XML editor jumps to the appropriate svg:g element. (3) add_layer_to_selection.patch This is kind of work-in-progress. A new two-state column is added to the Layers dialog, which shows if the layer is selected or not, and also on clicking the row icon can add/remove the layer to/from the selection. I mainly use this for sub-layer selection and moving. Possible improvements: - currently the show/hide eye icon is copied - right-align the column (how is this possible in gtk?) - if multiple layers are selected, trying to grab and move them by clicking on an item inside one of the selected layers moves only that layer. Hack: create a dummy layer with a "control" rectangle, select the control-rect, add the layers to the selection using the new icons, and then grab the control rect and move them all. I hope you find the patches useful and even improve them if required. BR, Robin

Quirkiness with CMS Fill tab

Hi list - The CMS Fill tab acts funky when I link to 'USWebCoatedSWOP.icc' (as provided by Adobe[0]). The drop-down only works the first time (ie, color sliders appear), but making changes is not really possible - the sliders disappear as soon as you attempt to interact with them. Linking 'ISOcoated.icc' does not cause this issue. This is in stable 0.48. I just checked 0.47 and I get the same weirdness in the CMS tab there. No output on the command line. Can anyone confirm? I'm ubuntu 10.04 amd64. I built 0.48 from the tarball this morning and 0.47 is from the repos. Not a huge deal - but I am curious as to what the problem might be. svn going nuts

Hi, As you very well remember, we still use SVN for the website. So, I was intending to commit news translation into Russian today, but they ended up being commited instead of English files, so out first two news items in English for September are in Pushkin lingo now. Here is what I see when I try to commit some more translations: avp@...2472...:~/soft/src/inkscape_web/news/ru/2010$ svn commit 09/004.inc Adding 09/004.inc svn: Commit failed (details follow): svn: File '/svnroot/inkscape/inkscape_web/trunk/news/en/2010/09/004.inc' already exists svn: Your commit message was left in a temporary file: svn: '/home/avp/soft/src/inkscape_web/news/ru/2010/09/svn-commit.3.tmp' Note how files from ru directory try to be committed to en directory. ¿How can I move the toolbars from right to top?

Hello, First at all, congratulations for the new Inkscape release. I love it. I have a problem, I can not move the toolbars from right to top. There are more icons than the bar can contains, then it is a headache working with this settings. There are any way to move toolbars from right to top, like the 0.47 version? Thanks! Hi, According to http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Win32Port I need to use MinGW, is there any way I can use only MSVC08. Have you though about using Scons? Thank you,
