Hi all, I've just been accepted as an "Invited Expert" to the SVG working group to represent Inkscape's interests in the evolution of the SVG standard. There seems to be a renewed effort to get a new standard out the door. The plan is to publish independently a number of "closely-tied" modules that will be bundled eventually as SVG 2.0. This is your chance to influence what that standard will be. 'Gcodetools' Inkscape extension.

Inkscape 0.48 Release Status Update

Hey All, I just wanted to let people know that we still have a couple blocker bugs that are actively being worked on. I got most of the "device-cmyk" issue worked out. Jon has my patch to see if he can sort the last issue (or point me in the right direction). Jon is also close to having the custom swatch issues sorted. I currently have 3 screenshots that I need to do writeups on and post. If anyone has any screenshots to contribute, particularly showing off the spray tool or enhanced text functions, that would be incredibly helpful. Cheers, Josh

SVG transform + stroke

Hello Here is a simple question about SVG. Let's assume I have a circle which has a thick stroke. Then I put it in a group which has a transform attribute that specifies 0.5x scale in the horizontal direction. When the drawing is rendered, should the stroke of the circle be thinner on the sides or have an uniform width? Regards, Krzysztof

freehand dot bug

Hi all, I just found a bug that is perhaps a blocker. Drawing dots with ctrl+click with freehand tool works splendid, but for saving files. Saving and reopening a file with these dots, moves the dots to a different place (and mirrors them). It makes the ctrl+click functionality unusable (or at least very cumbersome to use). Ciao, Johan

Output selected items through .py extension

HI there I want to know if there is the possibility to get the ids of the selected items in an extension that is an "output" extension. I'm developing an extension and I just need to get the ids. The extension is located in "File - Save As...", not in the "Extensions" menu. This is the problem? I've tried somethings like: self.selected.iteritems() self.selected but just got empty lists and dicts. Thanks for the attention.

Hi Krzysztof, i tried to compile on x4 and i got no error message. The building process just sopped without any error message. I also changed the path variable in mingwenv.bat, but withour success. SVG1.1F2 and expanded W3C test suite.

Hi, The SVG working group is in the final stages of publishing SVG1.1F2, an update to the original SVG1.1 specification. It has just gone out for "Last Call". At the same time the SVG test suite has been expanded. I have modified the test suite to include Inkscape output.
