Weird issue saving in PDF

Hi I'm using both Inkscape 0.45.1.1 and a snap from this monday in Win32 (but with older snaps was the same). There is a huge difference when saving in PDF files, other users reported an issue with the size of the files but the biggest difference is the quality, with 0.45.1.1 the PDF file is vectorial (~18kb) and with the snap it's a bitmap (~315kb)! BTW, the source SVG was http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:YamahaMotorCo.svg Please note that I tried replacing the new libcairo2.dll with the older file and the result was the same. Hi all, The keyboard shortcut for rotating an object are '[' and ']'. I'm using an azerty-keyboard (I live in Belgium) but somehow 'alt+[ or ]' doesn't work. I've been searching to change the key bindings for this, but i didn't find any reference to it. I hope someone over here knows a solution. Greets, Tomas

For devel list: the discussion was about the bug which prevents some fonts to display their bold variants on OS X. The bug is already filled for Inkscape. Don't know about Pango but since it is quite old I hope it went back to them. Gail worked a lot with Pango stuff for the summer of code. Gail do you know if they are aware of this issue and what is needed to solve it? Inkscape bug tracker will be moved to Launchpad soon. Once it's done, Launchpad will allow us to link our bugs to those of other projects, including Pango probably. Such issues will therefore be much easier to forward upstream if it's not already done. Okay, looking at it again, I could go through and delete each account from being able to post to the tracker, including anonymous people. Blur spinner digits

Hi, I've just checked out the SVN trunk to play with the new "huge bitmap export" feature, which is really cool! So, I have a rather large page (70x150cm) which I'm exporting at 100dpi. There is an image in my drawing, which is relatively low resolution compared to what I am exporting, so I want to blur it a bit so that it doesn't appear so pixellized in the output. The issue is that the blur control in the Fill & stroke dialog doesn't let me enter very low blur values. Or to be more precise, I can enter a small value like 0.03, the drawing is repainted with the exact level of blurring I want, but then when I do anything else the blur value goes back to 0. This is because the precision of the blur's spin is set to 1 digit (filter-effect-chooser.cpp:28). I changed it to 2 digits, and it now lets me enter a low blur value. Is it a good idea? Should I submit a patch? g

I just renamed the Path along Path LPE to Bend Path. I also changed this name in the Inkscape SVG representation. This means that your old files that used this effect no longer work. Reapplying the effect will not work as it will reinitialize some things. What you should do is go to the effect in the XML editor (in the defs section) and reset the effect attribute from 'path_along_path' to 'bend_path'. lib2geom status

Hey, Now that we're including a large part of lib2geom for LPE anyway; what else can we use it for? I'm unsure of the status of the whole library. One feature that I hear alot about when talking to people is the inset/outset function in Inkscape being "less than perfect." I think this was on the TODO for lib2geom, is it done? Thanks, Ted

Names of LPEs

Hi all, Because people are starting to use LPE and perhaps make tutorials? ;) I'd like to settle on the names for these two effects: They are now called: Path along path and Pattern along path in SVN. I think I'll keep one named Pattern along path (in svg now it is called "skeletal"); this one mimics the extension. The original path is some curved path. And it has a path *parameter* that is taken as a pattern and bent along the original path. The other one, I am thinking about "Bend path". The original path is the fish. And it has a path parameter that defines the curvature / the path along which to bend the fish, i.e. the now called 'bend path' parameter. Picking a sensible name is important for inkscape's svg. The UI text can be changed, the SVG text not. (because it would break people's files) Thanks a lot for your input, Johan

libwpg error in compile

Anyone know why I get this error during compile? Make[2]: *** No rule to make target `extension/internal/libwpg/Makefile_insert', needed by `Makefile.in'. Stop. pygmee mentioned on irc today he was getting the same thing. I know libwpg was separated out a few weeks ago - how do I get around this? JF
