Ooops! I forgot to convert the "Inkscape 0.45" wording to curves.... Attached is a corrected SVG file, please could someone add it to the release? In the attached jpg you can have a look at how it should look. About the "cutted" blur, well there is unfortunately nothing I can do about as it seems to be the behaviour of Inkscape... custom default templates

Patch from Debian has been applied to SVN HEAD: "Custom default templates can now be specified per-user. Start a new document, make any customizations you wish - such as changing the paper size - and save to ~/.inkscape/templates/default.svg. Now, all new documents you create will be created with this template." Bryce

Packaging & Marketing for 0.45

I've just posted the source tarball for 0.45 to sourceforge. Packagers, please create the packages from this. :-) (Also, please consider gpg signing your release packages - there are some notes for this on the CreatingDists page in Wiki.) It's also time for us to create the release announcement for this release. Anyone interested in helping me on this? Bryce

Johan: I noticed that as a result of your patch here: http://inkscape.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/inkscape/inkscape/trunk/src/exte… now Inkscape always saves file with sodipodi:modified="true" because you moved the omod->save before that attribute is set to NULL instead of after as before. Was there any reason for it? It looks wrong, sodipodi:modified should never be saved I think. I fixed it by moving the NULLing of that one attribute before the actual save. Inkscape 0.45-pre3 released

There were several packaging issues discovered with pre2, so I've posted one more pre-release. There are also a few bug fixes included; see the NEWS file for details. These are (at least for me as a designer) showstoppers as the whole usability of the "main new function" is under question... Dropper tool broken in 0.45pre and trunk?

Hi, In both trunk and 0.45 the dropper tool appears to be broken. Steps: 1. Remove preference file. 2. Draw square (it should be blue). 3. Draw circle (it should be red), leave selected. 4. Select dropper tool. 5. Move cursor over square and rectangle, note that the status bar is not updated, reads #000000 alpha 0 if Pick Alpha is checked, #ffffff if Pick alpha is not checked. 6. Click on square, circle turns white (or black of Pick alpha is checked and Set alpha not checked). If it does work, try picking the color from a few more objects. It worked on some of the object I tried after doing a make clean, make install, but failed on others. I didn't see a pattern to which ones worked and which ones didn't. Additional observation: if the dropper tool is click-dragged it works on those objects where simply clicking doesn't. Tested with Fedora Core 6. Note that 0.44.1 works as expected. Tav

We are interested in discussing the possibilities of adding some simple animation features? We hope to hear from someone soon. LGM 2007 - Press Release - Spanish translation help

Hello all, We are a bit in an empasse with respect to the Spanish translation of our press release (http://create.freedesktop.org/wiki/index.php/Conference_2007_Press_Release) I want to ask if someone has the time to translate the first part of the press release (not the second with the descriptions of the programs). It would be even better if we had a list of Spanish computer and graphic art magazines (email addresses) to send the translations to. We want to fire up the press release on sunday night, after the official LGM website is online. I really apologise for asking that lately, but I really thought someone else had taken care of it.
