Compiling Inkscape in Cygwin

Hello, I'm trying to compile Inkscape on Cygwin. I keep getting this during configure: checking for INKSCAPE_CFLAGS... checking for INKSCAPE_LIBS... /cygdrive/c/gtk/lib/ Package gdkmm-2.4 was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `gdkmm-2.4.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable No package 'gdkmm-2.4' found configure: error: Package requirements (gdkmm-2.4 glibmm-2.4 gtkmm-2.4 gtk+-2.0 >= 2.4.0 libxml-2.0 >= 2.6.11 libxs lt >= 1.0.15 sigc++-2.0 >= 2.0.3 gthread-2.0 >= 2.0) were not met. Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you installed software in a non-standard prefix. Alternatively you may set the INKSCAPE_CFLAGS and INKSCAPE_LIBS environment variables to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for more details. Color drag-n-drop

I just checked in a change to make the style minibar a target for color drag-n-drop. You can now drag colors from the swatches palette onto either the fill or stroke indicators to change the current object. Also, this should work with any apps doing a standard color drag-n- drop. I've tried this with The GIMP and also the 'font and colors' preference settings for gedit. I'd be interested in seeing which other apps do and do not work will with this. Also, since I fixed how color is dragged *from* the swatches, other programs should accept colors dragged from Inkscape.

Hi, guys. Those of you building on win32 will probably need to do a make clean ; make . I applied Peter's patch to Potrace 1.7, and it changes the size of a struct in curve.h, which apparently Makedep misses. bob

Panel rework direction mockup

I've been able to get more progress on the dockable stuff, and generic previews. That's the underlying code that's supporting the color palettes in the main UI. Hopefully we can get things tuned up to improve it to the point were it can be used for many things other than just the color swatches. I've done a quick mockup of where things might be going: notice what's down there next to the color swatches.

Has the Cairoification begun? :-) Looks like some Autopackage updates are needed... If the problem is that you're sometimes getting a (non-NULL) garbage pointer in dlgPtr, that has to be fixed upstream. It's probably a source of other bugs too. Besides, a typecheck here would only catch a garbage pointer most of the time. Occasionally, the arbitrary data being pointed to will have the right bit pattern... -mental
