Hi Tuxun, Oh wow -- I didn't know we had 2 people working on the translation -- that's great! Thank you both :-) And thanks for the link. I'll keep track of it this time. How is it going with the translating? I guess we can only see what has been translated so far? Does the French version have a page for every item in the menu on the left? It's a great manual, which has served the project well. But there have been a lot of complaints from beginners about a lack of documentation at their level. So we don't want to get rid of Tav's manual, but just have another manual available. The current state of those discussions is to use a project which was started by a French team (aaii, why can't I remember to save that link?!). It's another FLOSS manual. We're waiting for it to be translated to English. And once it is, we hope to be able to use it as a base to build the new open manual from. Maybe you might like to help with that? Also, some of her ideas will help us with the forum project too! And I'll be letting the committee know about that privately. So, welcome back Mihaela! Hi Roy, I apologize that I haven't replied to your messages about your tutorials, before now. I did bookmark your tutorials, and have it on my to-do list, to read them. I keep a kind of centralized list of links to all the best Inkscape tutorials that I know about, on my website, Inkscape Community (http://forum.inkscapecommunity.com/index.php). Roughly twice yearly I update the page, adding any new tutorials I find, and removing ones that have gone missing. So once I have a chance to read yours, I'll add them on. Eventually I hope to contact all the authors, and suggest that they could upload their tutorials to the gallery on the Inkscape website, using the Tutorial category. But that will probably be some months away, since I have some other projects working right now. Anyway, you would be more than welcome to register on the website (if you haven't already) and either post your tutorials there, or make a link to them. Unfortunately, the way this website feature is made, there is no way to have working links in the tutorials, because the tutorials have to be in the form of a raster image. They *could* be SVG (except that there's a slight display problem, if you view with IE, which is a problem with IE, as far as I understand). There has been some talk of having tutorials in the form of html, in addition to those in the form of images, but anything more than the idea is not certain at this time. Unfortunately in projects like Inkscape, just like in life, there are occasionally miscommunications, or misunderstandings, or even personality conflicts. Sometimes people simply lose their patience. All of these things are part of being human :-) In any case both of the parties involved have taken the appropriate action, by notifying the board, and ceasing communication until the problem can be mediated (assuming they both desire for it to be mediated). Hopefully it will just be a bump in the road for them, and they can work things out, and continue to contribute to the Inkscape project. :-) (I think the best thing we can do, is to give them the space to work it out, while we continue with our own projects.) Well anyway, I'm looking forward to reading your tutorials. I had a quick glance, but they deserve more time. Thanks for providing them for the community! Hi Friends, I was just looking at a new exension that's been uploaded to the website: https://inkscape.org/en/~pacogarcia/%E2%98%85inkscape-to-povray-exporter How did he make the outside link, when you click on the image? All the other extensions that I've looked at, when you click on the image, either you're offered the file (usually zip file) to be downloaded or you see the full size image. I mean, I realize that the link goes to his site, where the file can be downloaded. I just can't figure out how he made that link. Nothing urgent. Just curious :-) Thanks, brynn

You were clearly told, before you went ahead and made the page live, that I did not have a working picture plugin. I am not responsible if you do not provide the tools needed to upload image files. It was and/or ought to have been clear to anyone with eyes to see, that the test page relied on external links, and you were directed to this fact. Further, I did not ask you to download files from my web-site. In fact you downloaded the said files without asking, and without my consent. Is this how you generally behave, and treat artists? If so, shame on you, and shame on you for doing it to me. I provided links to those resources only, and not the resources themselves, Inkscape have no claim on them, or right to host those image files. Please remove them, and please refer this matter to the Board. It seems to me, it was a very small thing indeed, especially in the circumstances to ask that someone replace dirty files with clean ones, not least because I did not have the tools, and/or permissions to replace them at that time. We were so close to getting the thing right, and your hostile reaction is totally innapropriate. I have put a lot of hard work into this project, and I have had few thanks for doing so. As a reward for my effort, you have taken artwork which does not belong to you, and in addition you removed my editor priviledges. I cannot trust, or work with you again. Whatever your problem is, it should be with yourself with who you are disappointed, and to be treated and spoken too, by you in this way, is wholly unacceptable. Thanks to you, I have deleted, the guides, and viewBox extension files from my resources directory. I am more dissapointed than you can possiblt know, or imagine, and you can of course file your own bug report.
