Hi everyone, Thanks for the testing from various people. The bugs and corner casses (rss feeds, editing flow etc) have been fixed and I've pushed the news to the live website. I've also fixed the data on live as translations needed to be 'attached' to their parent document to be true translations in the new mechanism. Thanks for all your help guys, if anyone needs assistance with translating news, let me know. Showing patches in "About Inkscape"

Would anybody else find it helpful if "about inkscape" showed a list of all the patches that were applied? Not the ones that were committed to trunk, but the ones that are still in play, so to speak. At any given time I have several that have been submitted but have not yet been checked on OSX and then committed. Or they fell through the cracks for some other reason and were never committed, or have not yet been posted. The mixture that are present in any given build may vary, and diffing the patch files to see what is what is not fun. That said, I'm not at all sure how one would coerce bzr and patch to allow this. Presumably there would be a "patches.cpp" containing text something like: ... "this patch", "that patch", ... and each patch would stick a name in there to identify itself. Before commit, just remove the patch specific for "patches.cpp". I suspect patch might get awfully confused by that file. It would probably be easier to apply the patches through a script so that: ./apply_patch.sh for_this.patch would take the file name and automagically edit it into the file, while dropping the "bzr diff" generated path TO "patches.cpp". Dear Developer and Translators, The inkscape website has some new functionality to create, edit, delete and translate news articles. If you can, I'd like you to help test the functionality over on http://staging.inkscape.org/news/ and find any issues and wrinkles before the new functions are pushed to the live website. Let me know the issues here on the mailing list rather than on the bug tracker so I can keep the bugs for live issues. If you don't see any buttons, it's because you must be logged into the website and you must have the required permissions. Let me know here when you're testing and I'll enable your staging account to have permissions. Email Notifications for Merge Requests

One item on the todo list at LGM was getting better notifications about when merge requests come in. This answer shows how to set this up with mailman: http://askubuntu.com/questions/28757/for-my-project-in-launchpad-how-do-i-s… It requires an administrator for the inkscape project to set the branch reviewer to our mailing list account. First, is this action a good idea? Do we want some emails to our list about merge requests? Second, is this the best technique? It could be done via a cron script and liblaunchpad too. And thirdly, any project admins have the time to configure the mailing list and the project to set this up for us? Thanks for your time, Best Regards, Martin Owens

Ellipse to path

Hi to all. I have a problem if I convert a ellipse to path. The path value have a "d" value. It render ok, but if you move a node and come back to original position the "d" property of the path is diferent. It give me some problems accessing to the Geom::CubicBezier of the original path segment, it give me a false cubic segment. Hi after Makefile.am change I did a fresh bzr branch lp:inkscape ./autogen.sh ./configure make but make does not run as ./configure is not completed properly so what to do? Adib. --

New LPE envelope-perspective

Hi. I create a new branch[1] with an LPE to apply envelope or perspective to a object by 4 points. Perspective, is migrated from original extension from Dmitry Platonov/Aaron Spike to C++. Envelope is created by the compose function '2dsb2d' and based in Lattice/lattice2 code Both are managed only by a simple 4 point parameters. Help with "ghost" object after cloning

Hi all, I am trying to fix this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1299461 What I see is some weird behaviour. It seems a "ghost" object is lingering around after creating a clone. What I see is that after cloning a path, every change to that path now triggers /two/ calls to SPPath::set. The second call is on an SPObject with no id set (getId() == null), but it's repr points to the original path (1st path id == 2nd path->getRepr()->attribute("id")). This second object is triggering an LPE calculation before everything is set up correctly, leading to the bug reported. I don't know how this ghost object arises, and I believe it should be killed. At the very least it is triggering duplicate operations; and at worst, it bugs normal operation. thanks for some help, Johan

HSL values

Hi everyone, Just a suggestion for development of Inkscape, I notice using it that HSV values are in range of [0,256) and I just wanted to suggest that this be corrected. Basically, because "hue" numbers are an angle in the HSV colourspace hexagon/circle, hue should be out of 360 Also, "saturation" and "value" numbers are percentages, so having them out of 256 doesn't really make any sense from a conceptual point of view.
