compiling problem

Probably I'm just missing some sort of libary or something, but I can't tell. Can anyone tell me, how to fix this problem (see below), without manually copying those files? Further Ideas for the UI

Just something that popped into my head over night. Basically I am thinking of a way of creating composite shapes by dragging other shapes onto a receptive shape. The default action would be Union, but Intersection and Difference should should be available through modifier keys. The internal representation would be non destructive until convert to curves is used. NODE_EDIT mode would allow the component objects to be edited. Also is anybody working on Layers or an Object Manager. -- I must get out of these wet clothes and into a dry Martini. -- Alexander Woolcott

I have added a few behaviours to Inkscape (basically workflow speedups): 1) In SELECT mode double clicking on an object brings that object into NODE_EDIT mode. 2) In NODE_EDIT mode double clicking on anything but a knot changes to SELECT MODE 3) Double clicking on a knot in NODE_EDIT mode deletes that knot. Behaviours I plan to add: 1) Double clicking on line segment between to knots adds a point where clicked. 2) CTRL + SPACEBAR + DRAG OBJECT creates duplicate of object in new location. 3) ALT + SPACEBAR + DRAG OBJECT creates a clone of object in new location. Anyway I was wondering how to submit the changes I have made. Thanks Danni

Thanks Tomasz, this sounds very cool, and something many have needed. I've posted it to the Inkscape patch tracker. I would prefer that to also be ctrl+click so that its meaning would be "toggle node on/off". However it's not too straightforward algorithmically. We have had plans to add this for a long time, but currently the plan is to switch the nodepaths to a new representation (being worked on by njh and fred) and then add some advanced functions such as adding node in arbitrary position and dragging a bezier by any point on the curve. vector aesthetics

Hello all, I've been working on a writing for a little while about what I'm calling "vector aesthetics," which is a feature-based look at vector graphics and design styles that are influenced by vector graphics. prefix.cpp pthreads dependency

prefix.cpp introduced a pthreads dependency that is breaking us on Win32... Any suggestions on how to proceed? I do think we ought to be able to use it in a threadsafe configuration, but it should be using the Glib threading wrappers for portability. -mental

Okay, here's the second half of my thinking on the statusbar stuff. Then they can simply pretend they have the statusbar all to themselves, but it will do the right thing for all concerned behind the scenes. Comments? -mental
