Simarilius, I finally reviewed your pattern fill patch. It works :) - Why does it only work for bitmaps? AFAIK the mechanism is pretty similar for fills out of SVG objects, so why not enable them as well. - I would expect it to show me the bitmaps imported into the document in the list as well, not only those i specifically import from the dialog. - Most importantly, there's no way to adjust the position of the bitmap inside a path. Ideally I would like to see on-canvas handles that would let me to arbitrarily move, scale, rotate, and skew the fill inside the path, but for the patch to be usable, _at least_ move must be implemented. You may try to create an arena in the dialog, similar to those in the gradient tabs, that would show the bbox rect of the object and a draggable handle that positions the fill's top left corner (you can steal most of the code from gradient tabs). - A related bug that must be fixed: objects that write transforms with optimization, such as path, do not update the position of the fill. So that looks like you're moving a window into an unmoving wall of repeating bitmap tiles. Non-optimizing objects (ellipse) work as expected, transforming their fill with them. can't save document bg colour changes

Hello all! If I open an SVG file, then modify the document bg colour, and press Ctrl+S, I get that "No changes need to be saved". So in order to change the bg and save the file, I have to move some object back and forth and then Inkscape saves everything well as "there are changes needed to be saved" ;-) So the obvious solution would probably be to toggle the "modified" status on document bg colour change. Try removing/renaming your ~/.inkscape/preferences.xml and run it again. Also this error is fixed in CVS since yesterday, update to the latest CVS and try again. I assume this refers to the error where it crashes displaying the Fill&Stroke dialog. Your error with opening files is still a mystery. Hello all, I wondered if you all checked out this: http://osnews.com/story.php?news_id=6978 Talk about the new MS vector graphics system and new windowing. You can see how SVG will be pushed around in the future. All the more reason to push SVG and Inkscape between now and before AVALON and the new WINDOWS is released. This adds new urgency to the cause. Man, why can't M$ just go along with some open standards! Arg!!! Hello there! Once again I must admit how happy I am to use Inkscape - it has become no. 1 application that I use - see the attachment if you need proof ;-) Here is the list of example sites created by me, that use graphics by Inkscape. http://artemio.net My home site. The interface has actually been drawn in sodipodi (as I didn't know about Inkscape when I was creating thisone), but the rest (the icons on the main page etc.) is all by Inkscape. http://artemiolabs.com My audio laboratory site. 100% Inkscape. http://lilija.com.ua (in Russian) The site of a florictic shop where my sister works. 100% Inkscape. Note: all images were cut and JPEG'd with the GIMP (you guessed). Also, you guys mentioned that we, the users, can send you the screenshots of how we use Inkscape? I think it would be nice if, for example, you create a page on your site with a screnshot showing Inkscape at work and the web site that uses these graphics. If you need such a thing - just tell me. By default a small circle would be created. When a drag action is happening there would be a reasonably lange yellow border around it to indicate that it is not a normal shape.
