presentation slides

Hello all, I had some time today and earlier found out that I am going to give a presentation about Inkscape at UCSD at this place Center for Research in Computing and the Arts, and thus, made some default slides for presentations of Inkscape. They are in the head inkscape cvs module in share/examples/ . They are perfect for standard screen sizes and I made em look purty. Talk amongst yourselves, or tweak, change and rearrange. per-object selection indication

This is a small inverse diamond in the top left corner of the selected object's bounding box. This makes it much easier to handle multi-object selections. You absolutely rock! Thanks a million! The patch works wonderfully, and I did not notice any significant slowdown. I found only one problem with your patch: it seems to ignore the stroke-miterlimit property and thus may render very long miters, which is certainly not what a user expects. The old code also had problems with that property, in that it interpreted it as the minimum angle below which miter is chaned to bevel (at least that's the impression I got from experimenting, I have not looked into the code). The correct interpretation is different: http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG11/painting.html#StrokeMiterlimitProperty says that this property gives the upper limit of the ratio of the miter length to the stroke width. The initial value (used if not set explicitly) is 4. Currently, it seems like your patch ignores any value of stroke-miterlimit. Can you please fix that, using of course the correct interpretation of that property? P.S. For now I'll upload your patch to the patch tracker, so that other developers can have a look. Here's one serious problem with your patch: It somehow breaks nr_arena_item_invoke_pick for a path, so that that function returns the item for every point inside its bounding box, ignoring the shape of the path. That is, you cannot pick items via "holes" in other items. Do this: - draw an ellipse - draw a freehand line around the ellipse - switch to selector and try to click on the ellipse Now you cannot select the ellipse by clicking - the freehand line is always selected, because the ellipse is completely within the line's bounding box. Also, the mouse cursor changes to hand over the entire bounding box of a path, instead of over the path itself plus some tolerance around it (options.cursortolerance). The same works OK without your patch.
