With some minor issues, SVG import to/from Scribus <> Inkscape is getting better by the day. As discussed in this RFE: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=875727&group_id=9… I added an indicator that lets you see at once what objects are selected and what are not. This is a small inverse diamond in the top left corner of the selected object's bounding box. This makes it much easier to handle multi-object selections. You absolutely rock! Thanks a million! The patch works wonderfully, and I did not notice any significant slowdown. I found only one problem with your patch: it seems to ignore the stroke-miterlimit property and thus may render very long miters, which is certainly not what a user expects. The old code also had problems with that property, in that it interpreted it as the minimum angle below which miter is chaned to bevel (at least that's the impression I got from experimenting, I have not looked into the code). The correct interpretation is different: http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG11/painting.html#StrokeMiterlimitProperty says that this property gives the upper limit of the ratio of the miter length to the stroke width. The initial value (used if not set explicitly) is 4. Currently, it seems like your patch ignores any value of stroke-miterlimit. Can you please fix that, using of course the correct interpretation of that property? P.S. For now I'll upload your patch to the patch tracker, so that other developers can have a look. Here's one serious problem with your patch: It somehow breaks nr_arena_item_invoke_pick for a path, so that that function returns the item for every point inside its bounding box, ignoring the shape of the path. That is, you cannot pick items via "holes" in other items. Do this: - draw an ellipse - draw a freehand line around the ellipse - switch to selector and try to click on the ellipse Now you cannot select the ellipse by clicking - the freehand line is always selected, because the ellipse is completely within the line's bounding box. Also, the mouse cursor changes to hand over the entire bounding box of a path, instead of over the path itself plus some tolerance around it (options.cursortolerance). The same works OK without your patch. directory reorg

Hello all, I started the directory reorganization by first creating all the folder outlined in Bryce's document in the WIKI. Please pay attention to if I break anything in the next day or so while I incrementally move our directory structure over to the proposed, and watch the Changelog for changes, as that will tell my tale. Packaging and new RPM's

Hi all, Build issues: 1. the default configure script builds both static and dynamic libraries. Any reason ? I did --static=no and cut the build time significantly. Unless explained otherwise, I see no need for static libs on FC/RH. 2. I'll gladly do the OSX dmg files, but want someone to test these before having them sent into the wild. Catch me on jabber or IRC if you can test. Hopefully, we will have SuSE9.0 RPMS before long. I've added Red Hat 9 rpms as well as the Fedora ones on sourceforge. Cheers, Peter
