a few bugs I need tested...

Hello, Well, I've finished transferring as many bugs that still have problem in the most recent build of inkscape-20031203, to the inkscape bug tracker on sf.net. There are still a few I need help with either because I do not know how to test them, or they require win32/mac os X. The ones to check from http://sf.net/projects/sodipodi bug tracker: #642384 Misrendered file -- text not aligned #834520 Crash when using a huge R1/R2 value for star shape #830980 LandScape Printing #768804 Sodi doesn't refresh font list; crashes reading deleted font #751439 UTF8 in font names creates problems Please report back to me which one you looked at and the outcome because I'm trying to keep track of the transfer with a spreadsheet. Also, if the bug still exists, please post the outcome on the bug tracker. Thanks, and after these 5 are looked into, the transfer of bugs is complete. style.c crash

Gtk Buttons

It turns out that SPIcons weren't equipped to deal gracefully with situations where they were allocated less space than they were requested. I fixed this, as well as adjusting the buttons' requested size slightly. While I was mucking around in there, I also removed the code that drew random garbage in icons that weren't present (it turns out to have been a deliberate decision in Sodipodi). Anyway, CVS HEAD now has standard Gtk buttons. -mental

Feature Freeze for 0.36

A lot of new features have been prepared for 0.36, and as proposed earlier I think it's time for us to freeze further new features and shift focus to fixing bugs and putting the polish on what we've done so far. I expect we will want to be in feature freeze mode for at least a few days, and perhaps up to a week, before finalizing and packaging the release. So what we need to focus on is: * Finalizing & thorough testing features added for this release * Documentation of new (and existing) features * Fixing all high importance bugs (with criticality scores of 6+) * Testing portability to Win32 and Mac OSX * Preparing for the 0.36 announcement (PR, website, screenshots, etc.) Bryce

I didn't even realize that the primary toolbar was movable, and thought that space was just an accident until I clicked on it. It seems that there is a GTK error that doesn't show the shading on the handle of the primary toolbar. Thoughts on this? It is a problem that it is not obious that the primary is movable. That space where the handle is located, is more cosmetic, but looks unpolished. jon

docked toolbar steals focus

Mental and whoever else can debug this, here's the problem: - start inkscape - press ctrl-arrows: canvas is scrolling (at least when the mouse is over canvas) - use e.g. F2/F1 keys to switch tools; ctrl-arrows still work - now click on any main toolbar button: ctrl-arrows don't work anymore EVEN after you click on the canvas! So the toolbar steals focus and won't let it go no matter how you try. Since this involves moving focus not between windows but between widgets, I'm not sure how to address this. The same applies to all other keys defined in event-context.c. Maybe we need to rewrite the handler in there somehow. Maybe there's a way to also fix the problem with these keys only working when the mouse is over the canvas. I could not fix this at my first try, now we need to focus on this because disabling keys that used to work is a bad usability problem. If you figure out how to fix this, perhaps you'll also be able to fix this bug: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=854425&group_id=93… (see my comment at bottom).
