Hi, I have to admit that I have little real understanding of signals in Inkscape... How does one trigger a re-cascading of styling and a redraw when ever the content of the style element (XML Repr) is changed? I see that there is a: SignalObserver::notifyContentChanged() function but I am clueless as how to use it. Thanks, Tav

[UI] Rework Document Properties dialog

Hi all, I took the time to draft a reworked Document Properties dialog. mouse cursor spins forever, sort of

After our users use Inkscape for a short time, the mouse cursor turns to a spinning ball. * The cursor remains a spinning ball even outside inkscape and even after inkscape is closed * This hasn't happened after using any other program (gimp, office, gedit, browsers, terminals, etc.) * It happens without fail when we use Inkscape, but see "More info" below. * If there is a pattern regarding when the cursor turns to the spinning ball, I have yet to figure it out. That is, it seems to happen at any time: while editing text, or adding a box, or adding a spiral, or moving something, etc. The weird thing is that when I take a screenshot, the cursor looks normal in the screenshot. In order to make an image of the problem, I had to take a photograph of the screen. Hi people!, What do you know about why if you close the last opened file, close the entire program too?, and why if open various files, open various windows of the program? Dear all,. It is one of my biggest gripes that whenever I close a file Iḿ working on the program closes and I have to start it up again, waiting for my 200+ fonts to load, having everything initialise etc. It's utter bollocks. Why not just close the file and display a grey field until you start a new or open an existing file? Have it ready for a new bout of creativity? You want to close it? Press Alt+f4 or click the cross in the top right corner (it's not a win10 installer is it?). And yes,.. tabbed files would be very welcome, so those of us that do more than just dabble around with it to check for bugs can just open a whole project in a single instance of Inkscape and start dragging and dropping objects from one file to another. Oh that implies multiple open files displayed at the same time. That would enable us to easily access files with symbols or reusable objects or check their content, make template files more accessible, easily collate a whole project into a multi page document and so forth. There is a plethora of use cases for that. Not to mention avoiding having multiple instances of the same application cluttering your task bar not showing what file it is due to lack of space. Click this one? Rats!! Wrong one.. This one then? Argh... Next,.. etc. If you like me tend to work with about 10 open instances of Inkscape while working on a new project, it can be useful to spread them around multiple desktops, but it would be nice if you could have it tabbed and multiple instances at your hearts desire. Would also be easier on the screen estate. Cheers, Jelle

Hello, I just want suggest some cool features, maybe some exist but i don't know where. - Add jpeg export, for the moment i open gimp for export png to jpeg. - Add size template for biggest screen size one by ratio 4x3 5x4 16x9 etc. - in addition a feature for export for several size from size template for the same ratio with check box for select which we want. What do you think about these features ? It's the goog place for talkl about that and for doing this king of proposal. Thx and sry gor my en. J.

Minor deselect behaviour inconsistency

Hi there! C R made me aware that deselecting nodes in 0.92 can be done not only with Escape key, but also by double-clicking with left mouse button on empty area. This is in contrast to 0.91 and earlier versions, when a single click made that happen (which was quite annoying to be honest, so I'm happy for this change to happen in 0.92). However, the Select Tool still uses single clicks to deselect objects. Is this inconsistency intentional...? Doesn't it make sense to have double-clicks to deselect objects just as is the case for nodes? Cheers, /Olof
