libpng14/15 config detection and/or compile support

If there is any way to support compilation of inkscape trunk on a system with libpng15 installed? On Gentoo Linux ~amd64, I have libpng 1.2, 1.4 and 1.5 installed in independent slots. Config detects and tries to compile with 1.5, even though that API is not yet compatible with inkscape, it seems. https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/721029 I've usually been able to run inkscape trunk, my sincere thanks to all involved for keeping the build at such a consistently high level over several years. Hi all, Kris has been improving our code using hints from cppcheck. I have started to use this program too, and already found some bugs with it. It seems like a really great program, and I encourage you to have a look at our code with it. Windows devs: yes this program has a nice Windows GUI ! Cheers, Johan

2geom modification

Hey all, It appears that the 2 last commits made to trunk had modified files in the 2geom directory. Unfortunately these modifications were done in our in-tree copy only which is effectively forbidden. This message is just a friendly reminder to everyone that the process is that changes are to be made upstream in lib2geom and then brought into Inkscape's copy. Jon, if you do not have commit access to lib2geom please submit a diff of your changes as soon as you can. Cheers, Josh

Social network upadates and feed rss inkscape.org

Hi all, I want to set updates from the official site for social networking. Does anyone know why the rss feed does not work on www.inkscape.org? Does anyone here know the password of Twitter? @inkscape I'm creating a fanpage on facebook[1] too. I know that we must prioritize free networks (Diaspora, identi.ca, noosfero and others); But unfortunately, there are many users on the basis of proprietary networks, can provide at least notificiações and updates. files on the wiki

Hi Guys, If there are files on the wiki which arent linked to by any pages, and dont appear to be inkscape related, do we delete them? example would be: http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/File:100_0306.jpg which has no links on our wiki, and is a truck, so has no apparent link to inkscape. State of the Wiki

Hi Guys, Been doing some spam cleanup on the wiki, and there doesnt seem to have been a legitimate edit since about the 6th Oct. We seem to be getting about 4 accounts a day being created so that they can post a page full of garbage for seo or whatever. Is there a particular reason that we dont have any form of account verification before we let people create stuff? Can we require moderation before we let people post/create, or just disable automatic registration, and put a human (or humans) in the loop? As it is the only people who seem to be adding stuff are spammers... Cheers John

Quite a while ago, we submitted a request for the following: It would be nice to create hairline, single pixel line, or 0.001 to 0.004 inch thickness line while designing. The Windows GDI would consider this to be a vector line. It could be quite useful to use it in creating designs for processing by CNC as well as Laser machines for cutting. Was this ever implemented?
