Hey, I'm Manipal Singh junior year student from IIIT hyderabad and I want to contribute to Inkscape gsoc 2016 project, some of them are very interesting. I would like to seek some more information regarding the project "Development Project Management System" that seems pretty interesting to me as I have good knowledge of C++, CSS, Python and Django. Do we just need to create web app for ideas of development projects and enhance existing Project UI? Also I would like to know about the existing project. Thanks, Manipal Singh

Access to inkscape wiki

Hello, I wish to contribute to Inkscape, by improving the documentation/comments, and hopefully the code base. I found some typos in http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Developer_manual, but it seems that writting access must be asked to the devel mailing list first. Is this the right place to ask ? Code changes related to a scale factor of 1 + 1/15???

Hi all, Does anybody recall a recent change that would have introduced a scale factor of 1.066667 (1 + 1/15), on Windows only? In a simple test case (one black rectangle) read in from an EMF file, for the same trunk revision, among other issues, I am seeing all coordinates and widths scaled up by that amount on windows relative to linux. I'm forwarding this information directly to the list. It's from Canonical/Ubuntu about their donation during download screen. They say: * 1 in every 500 downloads results in a donation (0.2%) * People donate what your default is normally * There are lots of complaints about the download format * They plan on changing the download screen to a thank you page This is important data for us, because I feel the good will of our users is important for us and noting to large amount of complaints is important for the design. btool slower to link with recent devlibs on Windows (32 bit)

Hi all, Finally had a chance to update things on my Windows XP 32 bit build box. Devlibs 53 -> 61 and now current inkscape trunk. I'm observing that the link stage is taking a very, very, Very long time to complete. Many minutes. I do not recall it taking that long previously. Am I hallucinating or is it really slower than it used to be? Is there an easy way to disable the build for inkview, so that I can at least not have to wait for that progam's equally slow link? Also I have forgotten the trick to get btool to show what it is doing when it compiles a module. That is, to show the cxx line rather than compile (modulename) Finally, gdb seems to be more hit and miss than I remembered. Doing it this way: gdb file inkscape/inkscape.exe inkscape/inkscape.dbg # set break point here run /c/temp/test2.emf is doing strange things. The break points will not always set. Sometimes it says that it doesn't see the file (emf-inout.c) and other times that it does not see the line specified. build.xml was modified with -O2 -> -O0, so nothing should have been optimized away. Yet other times, it works as one would expect. Also when it segfaults "bt" is wildly uninformative. For the case at hand it is >600 levels deep and each level is just described by a few numbers - no file or module names are shown. Thanks, David Mathog mathog@...1176... Dear users and developers, Inkscape has been invited to take part in the Free Software design day known as SpinachCon which happens the day before LibrePlanet here in Boston: https://libreplanet.org/2016/ The SpinachCon event is about working with users on finding odd, weird and slightly ugly things within inkscape that we can fix or make designs about.
