Dear Developers, I've been working on getting the inkscape-web bugs moved over from launchpad to GitLab. The code for doing this is pretty much there, but there is one serious limitations. It's not possible to set users to anyone but myself for /anything/. So that's everything from bug creator, assignee to commenter. This is because our project is on Gitlab.com where I'm (obviously) not an administrator. Admin access on one's own hosting of gitlab is a prerequisite for importing data with users other than your own. It makes sense that I can't assign three hundred bugs to some unwilling party, but it's a bit annoying. The closest I can get is to use a new gitlab.com user I've created called 'lpuser' it's an account I can bless with project privileges and then let it own all launchpad posts from the transition. Prefacing the content/description of the bug or comment with "originally posted by ~username on launchpad" Before I commit to importing the launchpad inkscape-web bugs under this user. Does anyone else have any ideas to try? Best Regards, Martin Owens

Yes, I did. Gonna forward this one to inkscape-devel. By the way, I would like to add I saw Tavmjong Bah's reply about the cores being used. Another question here, is Inkscape use only one core at this moment for everything? Then, if so, should threads settings be reduced to 2? If yes, why is there a option for more threads? List of project ideas - Bug Fixes - Developing new widgets (or at least conceptualizing new possible widgets) - Adding on to existing widgets (draw, erase, trace bitmap, etc) - Creating more image effects - Increasing runtime - Creating more in-depth tutorials - If profit is an issue perhaps create a purchasable version with exclusive additions.

Hi all, I just wanted to make a much belated announcement. As many of you know, I got involved with Inkscape as a result of the need to design labels, etc, on a very very tight budget for products I was seeking to launch. Well, as of this year, Lava Brew™ ( http://lavabrew.com - https://twitter.com/lavabrew ) has officially gotten off the production line and is now available in stores in the Greater Toronto Area (in Canada)! All graphic design for Lava Brew was done in Inkscape (photo touch-ups in gimp, and some CG elements in blender for promotional material). Thank you so much to everyone involved in the Inkscape project, and especially everyone who helped me toil away at all sorts of bugs affecting my usability and all the questions I had. Need help for GSoC project - Slice toolbar items

Hi all, I posted a draft proposal about extension system a few days ago. But afterwards I realized that it may not fit in with the roadmap very well and is not complete. So I would like to switch to the slice toolbar items project. The problem is I don't get the project description very well. What's the difference between it and the eraser? It seems that slicing can be achieved through erasing already. Regards, Minglangjun Li

Problem with text tool in Inkscape 0.92.1

Hi there, can anyone help me? I am trying to use the text feature in Windows 7 64bit using Inkscape 0.92.1 in the following manner: I select the Text tool (F7) and start typing some text. As soon as I hit enter (for a newline of text) the newline jumps to 500px above the original text. I went into the NEWLINE spacing feature (which is cool) and changed the value to 0. Also changed the measurement from pt to px, cm, mm and nothing worked. What am I missing here guys? --Victor Westmann
