hey all I was wondering a few things about the book... I would like to send you a copy of the book. ... LGM : It seems the LGM will be in may in Montreal...it also sounds like the meeting will have several days for people to work together...how about a second book sprint during the event to take the manual further? related to this are two other issues : 1. we can get a ISBN number (FM can pay for it, its about 100 euro all up). If we do this the book will be listed on Amazon etc...do you want me to do this? If so we need to edit it a little as I noticed a few oddities in the printed version. Its a days work but we need a 1 -day mini-sprint (remote) to clean it up. 2. if you decide a 'yes' on the LGM and ISBN then i have another plan too...how about we combine efforts to promote the bejeebers out of the book (especially before christmas) and see if we can sell enough to pay for everyone to get to Montreal? adam -- Adam Hyde Founder FLOSS Manuals http://www.flossmanuals.net

hi, The Inkscape book is online. Its looking great! We need to get the word out. Remember all the proceeds go to the development of the manual - one idea is to sell copies so we can afford doing another inkscape book sprint. The team can then decide what to do with the $, I personally hope it will go towards another book sprint. okeee.... http://translate.flossmanuals.net/write Is set up with three ready to go translations of Inkscape_en: de, br, ru I have left the rest because we need to train someone to do this and its best we do this with something real. This is the FM translation zone and it will change a bit in look and feel to differentiate it from FM in general. In essence it is a temp zone, the idea that we want complete FM lang communities, so if we use this for translations and build up a lot in any one lang we will then start discussing a full FM install for that lang ok...it is doubtless that we will need to tweak the FM translation zone. I dont know how br,ru, or de char sets work in the editor...thats the first thing to check...also I need to find a god way to be able change the lang of the editor etc so, patience is a wonderful virtue :) if u find something kookie let me know and we can have a look quite quickly to see how to resolve it... in the meantime my priorities are coffee and gym :)...back in a few hrs adam -- Adam Hyde FLOSS Manuals http://www.flossmanuals.net + 31 6 2808 7108

hey I removed the chapters marked 'incomplete' from the index. This included the following chapters: Render (Effects Menu) Generate from path Visualize Path Tile Clone Boolean Path Operations Rows and Columns Grids and Guides Transform Color ALL bitmap chapters XML Editor View Modes Document Properties Customisation Glosaary Hot keys cheat sheet Inkscape Community Inkscape and Wikipedia You can see it all here: http://en.flossmanuals.net/bin/view/Inkscape/WebHome I have also renamed index items as they had explanations in the titles. The FM index system at this time cant display this well so we need to keep titles short. Even though I removed a lot the index is still thorough. If anyone can go through the chapters with me and check things we can have a version online within a few days.
