VOTE: Adjust FSA address

Background We voted to remove Bryce's address from our FSA and when we sent that to the SFC they responded that an address was required. Apparently the address is used as a means of last resort if they can not in any way contact the project. Upon discussion Marc has volunteered to use his university address for this address. It would mean that, if for what ever reason the project disappeared, the SFC would look towards Marc to transfer everything associated with the project. Proposal Replace the Bryce Harrington's address in the preamble of the FSA with the following address: Marc Jeanmougin Télécom Paris 19, place Marguerite Perey 91123 Palaiseau Cedex France Votes a. Replace Byrce's address with Marc's b. Keep Bryce's address c. Replace with something else: _______ Timeline Hoping to close this vote when everyone has voted or by Friday Feb. 18, which ever comes first.

IDEA: Dates on votes

Howdy PLC, Personally I love the idea that anyone can propose a vote. But the issue comes in how that gets documented and closed. I've been trying to keep the archive of resolutions up-to-date. And I'm fine with that, but one thing that I haven't done is closed votes other folks have opened. I felt like that was overreach. As there is likely to be some discussion I have felt that it is possible the proposer would want to revoke and repropose based on that discussion and closing the vote was taking that option away. But, sometimes things get stuck. Our FSA says that votes should generally be a week unless otherwise noted. So I think that we could just have that, unless otherwise noted, we assume it is exactly a week and I'm happy to clean up and close the vote. Or we could just add something to our standard template that is the date of closing. Or we could do nothing. I don't know how we need to proceed on any decision there. But I wanted to bring up the issue and I wasn't sure if folks were aware of the assumptions I was working on. Ted

Job Posting

Dear Leadership Committee, Following our successful vote to hire a project coordinator, I'm here to report the progress and the remaining process for this job posting. I spoke with Pono from the SFC to finalise the details and the process they would like. These include: * The creation of a private mailing list where applications can go. Marc has created jobs(a)lists.inkscape.org which is a list of the hiring panel, and pono and myself as observers. I think Marc is there too as list admin. * Creation of the complete job text here: https://inkscape.org/jobs/project-coordinator-2022/ which the SFC wanted us to host on our own website. Included modifications from the SFC are the sentence for "equal opportunity employer" and the final section in how to apply for the job. The schedule for the submission of applicants and review processes is in that final section. * The formation of three inkscape community members to vet applications. Tim, prkos and michele have volunteered and are added to the above list. ~ Process todo: Confirm pono is on the mailing list and is receiving emails. Give job posting to the Vector's team for publication, however they would like to do that. A news article, twitter, etc etc. I need two other PLC members to form the finalisation panel, to conduct video interviews once we have a short list. Each interview could be an hour long, and there should be three at least in the short list, so please be aware of the time commitment at the start of April. Best Regards, Martin Owens

Vote: Hire Project Coordinator

Dear Inkscape Leadership Committee, Your attention is required for the following vote. Following our meetings with the SFC we have concluded the final job description and the hiring process details. A big thank you to everyone who has put so much time in this long process. - Background - The final documents are attached as a PDF. The first is our internal notes condensed for review. The second is the full process for hiring worked out with the SFC and the final part is the actual job description to be sent to the SFC for advertising. A small about of the budget has been set aside for any SFC administration costs. The job salary is $30-$45k while the budget is $50k for the full year. - Vote - a. Send the Job Description and confirm the budget of $50k for the full year contract. b. Do not hire a project coordinator This vote will be open until Friday Feburary 18th 2022. VOTE: Release Video Budget

Dear Leadership Committee, You attention is required to vote on funding for the Inkscape 1.2 release video for 2022. As previously mentioned in our budget meeting, we have in our project a well respected video creator who makes videos for Gnome, the SFC and has made two previous Inkscape release videos and who needs funding for their work in the coming year. Background: We as a project benefit from having a good looking and timely release video and this funding will enable our contributor, Chris Rogers, to spend the needed time without overwork. Budget December Meeting 2021

Dear PLC, Thank you to everyone who came to the budget meeting yesterday. It was quite a busy and intense discussion, even for this high level overview meeting. Big thanks to pono from the SFC for assisting and giving us some solid information. We expect to spend at least $80k and the feeling was that it's time for us to stop growing our hoard of money and start spending it. The project has many needs, which we currently ask volunteers to do. But many of these tasks are things we need and shouldn't depend on waiting for volunteers, so the basic principle was put forward that "if the project is asking for the work to be done, then the project should be paying for it." This was used a guideline to find items we should be budgeting for. Attached you will find the earmarks that we created for each section of the budget. There are some notes: 1. The release manager stipend isn't currently needed, Marc's employer is kindly covering this expense and it's noted here in case we need to have this item in consideration for future budgets. 2. We have one Outreachy internship unused from last cycle, this coming year we will likely only need at most one more. This earmark should cover that. 3. We lack a documentation lead, or any contributor able to step up and look after documentation. If there's anyone you can remember from the past who'd be interested in getting involved, we've earmarked a small budget to help with costs for that area should we need it. Each of the items require another meeting to discuss their details further. This is especially true of the two big ticket items for the admin and the developer budget. Please do come to these meetings, which will be help via video again and recorded for transparency. Dates are attached. Again, a big thank you to everyone. Taking our budgeting responsibilities seriously has been a high priority for us in the leadership committee and it's great to finally feel like we are starting to see the wheels move.
