Website update, I've added djangoCMS to the website on request from the djangoCMS project. They've added Inkscape to their website too, you can see it here https://www.django-cms.org/en/partnerships/ Added here: https://inkscape.org/support-us/sponsors/ (infrastructure) Background: djangoCMS is a project we've used for a long time for our inkscape website (inkscape.org) and they are undergoing reforms to make their project more sustainable. 2020 Developer Education Book Campaign ====================================== Proposal: --------- https://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php?title=Community_Development 1. Purchase and distribute an Inkscape-related educational book for the most active Inkscape contributors. Where we focused on programmers in past campaigns, this will be open to all community contributors. 2. In total, the Inkscape Board intends to spend up to $2000 for purchase of books for community contributors, including shipping and handling costs. Our expectation is that most books will cost $40 plus up to another $10 shipping, but that the range may be more like $25-100 per person generally in total. We anticipate 10-30 people participating in this, with a cost of less than 20*($40+$10) on average. 3. Recipients must have been actively contributing to the Inkscape community in some tangible form for at least six months, with the intention to continue, and the selected book should be one that will aid in their continued contributions to Inkscape. Valid forms of contribution include, but are not limited to: community development, website content, visual design, user experience design, and programming. 4. The campaign proposer (Tavmjong Bah, or their designee) will be empowered to officially announce and introduce the campaign to the larger community, and to encourage applicants. They will define the schedule with deadlines for a) book suggestions, b) start of applications, and c) end of applications. They will also be charged with vetting applicants to verify they meet the criteria listed here. 5. The list of books allowed to be selected will be open for public suggestion up to the deadline date specified in (3). All books must be topical to improvement of Inkscape's software, usage, or community; the campaign proposer is charged with determination of which books meet the criteria. All books must be orderable through at least two major booksellers; the actual selection of which bookseller to use is per the discretion of the Software Freedom Conservancy (SFC). 6. Recipients must provide a valid name, shipping address, and desired book to the campaign proposer (or their designee), who will then provide the compiled and finalized list to SFC for purchasing and shipment of the educational materials after the end of applications deadline. 7. Board diversity

At the meeting today, Martin raised a point about improving the diversity of the board. Since we did not have full attendance I took the action to start a thread on the mailing list, so we can all discuss it prior to making any tangible proposals. Hopefully a recording of today's meeting is captured and available somewhere for Josh and Ted to review. The two points that would need worked out is first identifying a plan for recruiting for the diversity we wish to gain, and second making room on the board for new members. Let's hear everyone's thoughts and opinions on both matters. Bryce

Hi Thomas, I tested google, evolution, korganiser and an online ical tester. All show the ical in UTC and the correct 9AM start time for EST. Not sure what's happened when you added the ical into google, did it pick up that it was UTC in the settings? (should be automatic) Software wise: This is off the self components. Not an implementation ourselves. 200 lines of mostly boiler plate python to wire standard modules together and some html templates so it looks like something.
