cropping to canvas border?

I find myself often wanting to crop all elements of a drawing/design to the page border. Is there a good and obvious way to do this that I'm missing? Currently, what I do is create rectangles on the outside of the page and use the path difference tool to chop anything that sticks into it. This is pretty tedious if there's more than a few objects. (Of course, everything has to be converted to a path first, but I don't usually mind that.) I have the same problem... The working around I found is to save your figures in eps (with the right size) and then use epstopdf to convert it to pdf. The pdf size is then the same than the eps one... Anyone know how to make it directly from inkscape? A shot in the dark, but you could try mkaing the size of the canvas that of your object? I'm not sure how PDF would handle such a thing, but that would at least force the size of the page to that of the object, and as such (I would expect it that way) the resulting PDF would have the same size?

Newbie asks aboout blending photos

A frequent task is to take two photos and stitch/blend them together using a blurred line (straight or curved.) I am hoping that there is a straightforward way to do this. Skew confusion

Hi, I'm a bit confused over how skew is supposed to function. When I perform a horizontal skew of 20px on a 100x100px rectangle, I get a bounding box of 120x100px, with the top shifted right 10px, and the bottom shifted left 10px. But when I perform a horizontal skew of 20px on a 100x64px rectangle, I get a bounding box of 112.8x64px. 12.8 = 6.4.x2? Why does the height affect the amount of horiz skew when horizontal skew amount is specified? Any suggestions?
