Get Previews from the Open Clip Art Library
by E. G. A.
Just an absolute newbie running Inkscape 0.48.2 in a well working,
really beautiful, vintage declared but loved computer (2.1 GHz PowerPC
G5 & Mac OS X.5.8).
To get Previews from the Open Clip Art Library*, it is needed to be
registered at the openclipart.org site and fill up the user account data
in the Inkscape Preferences**?
* File > Import from Open Clip...
** Import/Export > Open Clip Art Library Username & Password.
Thank you.

How do I convert 2 parallel and filled lines to one line with thickness?
by Philip May
Hello,
I am new to vector editing software - so I might use the wrong terms.
But I hope you understand my question.
I have a gif image of a black & white stick figure.
I am using inkscape and the tracing tool (Shift+Alt+B) to trace it
with default settings. Everything looks fine.
Now I want to change the shape of the lines with the "edit path by notes
tool" and
realise that the tracing tool did not convert the lines of the stick figure
to one line with a certin thickness. Instead it converted the lines to two
parallel lines that are filled.
*My question now is: Is there a tool or something to convert these two
parallellines that are filled to one line with a certain thickness?*
Thanks,
Mike

Follow objects when snapped
by Florian Lindner
Hello,
I try to translate the Inkscape labels back to English from German,
therefore they may not be exactly the same.
In Inkscape there are object connectors (Objektverbinder) which can snap to
another objects border. Can I set these connectors to stay snapped to the
object, even when the object is being moved?
Thanks a lot,
Florian

FW: adware when downloading Inkscape
by Jake Maier
I just remember that I also downloaded 7z to unzip the program. So it also
may come from there.

Subject: adware when downloading Inkscape
I downloaded the latest Inkscape yesterday and since then I have seemingly a
couple of adware programs installed on my system. One of the programs wants
to give me free cloud storage, while another load 2 ads each time I open
Firefox.
Does anyone know if that came from downloading Inkscape or if that was just
a coincident
Thanks for any info

problem and get back to me in a timely manner I would appreciate it so
