Get Previews from the Open Clip Art Library
by E. G. A.
Just an absolute newbie running Inkscape 0.48.2 in a well working,
really beautiful, vintage declared but loved computer (2.1 GHz PowerPC
G5 & Mac OS X.5.8).
To get Previews from the Open Clip Art Library*, it is needed to be
registered at the openclipart.org site and fill up the user account data
in the Inkscape Preferences**?
* File > Import from Open Clip...
** Import/Export > Open Clip Art Library Username & Password.
Thank you.

How to do this?
by Perry Kappetein
I am following this tutorial
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwOYO9cAows
and I can't get it to work.
As soon as I remove the fill (so it turns blank) and apply a Stroke, I
don't get the outline.
Idk what I am doing wrong, but I cannot get this to work in 0.9.1
I am trying to put text in a half circle
Thanks

Pen, Pencil behavior w/shape option
by Brynn
Hi Friends,
I've come across some surprising behavior and I'm not sure if it's
intended or not. ("surprising" to me, in my permanent learning mode :-D)
When the Shape option is Triangle In or Out, on the Pen/Bezier
control bar (Pencil/Freehand tool too) and the mode is set to anything
except Spiro Spline, the path automatically has the Power Stroke LPE applied
to it.
It used to be Pattern Along Path. And when the Shape is set to
Ellipse or From Clipboard, it still is PAP.
Is this intended? If so, I wonder if "Shape" as the title for that
dropdown list should be "Path Effects" or something to indicate that it's
much more than just a "shape" that you're about to draw?
Thanks for clarification or comments. (I'm on Windows 7, sp1,
64-bit, Inkscape 0.91, 32-bit (exe).) :-)
All best,
brynn

Quick Editor Needed
by Martin Owens
Dear Users,
The inkscape website has a news article ready to go live about the
hackfest that was developed by Brynn. She's currently taking a break
from inkscape web work, but the article is almost finished so I need
to ask for a user to step up and help get it over the line.
It may just be as simple as reading the text and being happy with what
has been written and getting it on the website. But the important part
is that it's a user and not a developer. Because we'd like news to be
user centric; for and by users and all that.
If you're interested in helping out, please email here [on list] and
I'll send you the last draft copy.
Thanks for helping.
Best Regards, Martin Owens
