Get Previews from the Open Clip Art Library

Just an absolute newbie running Inkscape 0.48.2 in a well working, really beautiful, vintage declared but loved computer (2.1 GHz PowerPC G5 & Mac OS X.5.8). To get Previews from the Open Clip Art Library*, it is needed to be registered at the openclipart.org site and fill up the user account data in the Inkscape Preferences**? * File > Import from Open Clip... ** Import/Export > Open Clip Art Library Username & Password. Inkscape svg vs. plain svg.

file that opens in 3 seconds in Google Chrome takes 10 minutes in inkscape

Hi all, I wonder whether the file is formed in such a way that inkscape has a hard time with it? Google Chrome's file dialog can preview the file instantly and then renders it within 3 seconds, wheres Inkscape hangs for minutes when trying to preview it or to open it. What inkscape does successfully is, in a few minutes, to save it as PDF from the command line using the -A switch. Saving to PDF shrinks the file from the original 8 MB down to ~800 KB. As a PDF Inkscape has no problem previewing it instantly, and opening it within 20 seconds or so. It's the only way I managed to open the file with inkscape. Given that we generate this file ourselves from our own software ( github.com/acardona/CATMAID/), I would appreciate if someone could look at the SVG example file and let us know what would be best for Inkscape regarding formatting, choice of svg vs g elements, and styling. Hi all, As the developers put the final touches on the 0.91 release, it's high time to plan a media blitz to get this announced to all our users. I'd like to recruit and organize a formal team to do marketing for Inkscape. This'll involve writing copy, planning announce strategies, notifying news sites, coordinating with parallel fundraising efforts, and more. We'll be organizing an online IRC meeting soon to coordinate these activities. Sound like fun? Ryan Lerch, Josh Andler, and myself are already signed on; we've been through the release announcement process before so we're old hands. View mode in Inkscape

Hi everyone, I have an idea: add a view mode in Inkscape. That means with one click, you will hide all menus and panels; another click, everything appears again. Easy come, easy go. This has some advantages: * Load time of Inkscape and Inkview are not so different. * Inkview is lack of feature. Especially zooming. * Easy to modify the svg, instead of viewing it in Inkview or in browers. * Personally, I would like to have a separate app to view it, rather than implement it into browsers. Autofill

Hi, I wonder if we could have a auto fill option. if the page is set to A4 we create a shape or text or whatever and then select it, then copy it and then have an option to paste as many copies as possible that will fit on the page size for users that don't have a page then maybe they could draw a rectangle the size they want and auto fill could be set to use that size. handy for labels with logos but also for repeat cuts of the same sized objects. Website Menus

I've put in place a fix for both javascript (so it won't cause an infinite loop) and for the menus themselves which were getting progressively worse as the caches refreshed. Live Effects and Images

Hello, im member from a group of people interested in libre graphics called "Grafica Libre", one member ask me for a new effect. The request is for made triangulation delaunay from a image. I think could be ?easy made from extension -there is existing code- but i want to do from a LPE because: I want to put a KNOT in each extemium of a triangle -shared with continuous triangles- who act as modifier of the final result. The thread[1] give me a brunch of links but to me the one i like more is this[2] I want to put similar controls to the LPE + ability to touch triangles, maybe could remove knots -and triangles- The problem: I ask previusly by IRC about using images in LiveEffect for use in the perspective LPE with something as "original-src", i take a response about in IRC "not a good idea inkscape strore hacked versions of images like illustratos do", but this case is diferent, because only obtain data from the image. So there is a objection about this use? Finaly... There is a multiplataform image libray bundled in inkscape for c++ or python? Regards, Jabier.
