Anyone know how I could layout/hack a single Inkscape SVG file so that I
can get a multi-page PDF out the other end?
Inkscape -> layout tricks (maybe layers?) -> some process (maybe command
line) -> PDF file with pages.
At the moment I am laying-out logos and designs on a single 'page' which
can be as tall as 9000 pixels.
Is there a way to 'chop' a single PDF page like that into smaller chunks?
In recent versions of Mac OS X and X11, X11 installs as
/Applications/Utilities/XQuartz.app. Could Inkscape look there by default,
before asking the user to Browse for it?
Most users wouldn't even know where to look for X11, especially since it's
now called XQuartz.
Thanks Jurgen for quick response. I resolved the problem by installing
fresh, the latest version and got the problem solved.
btw, I use Windows 7 and Inkscape version 0.48. don't know further.
Now I want to know how can I get updates? Is there any provision to get
automatic updates? Please let me know
I want to create links between objects (says some circles) so that when I move my objects , the links between them follows .(architecture schema)
So I used connectors to link my circles
Now I want those link/connectors to be curved, while I can curve them temporarily while manipulating the link, unfortunatly as soon as I move to another other object or link, my previous curved links returns to a straight line links :-(
How can I created persistant curve connectors between objects ?

For some reason, every time I try to draw a square I get rounded corners. I
don't want this but can't find out how to stop it, so currently I draw squares
by using the draw lines tool and making a closed shape. This is daft!

Hey Devs and Users,
I've updated the wiki explaining the new Inkscape website's translation
instructions. New translations have accidentally overwritten the English
content in some places (especially the front page) so to avoid this I've
put together a brief explanation of why the front page is hard to edit.
Please do copy plugins into your local language instead of editing the
English versions. All editors are reminded that each language can have
different plugins for the same content-location if they wish.
If you don't have an account and would like to help get content ready,

Hello Team User Inkscape,
I am new to this area and self learning Inkscape. My problem is--- when I
try to fill using Paint bucket tool, program Inkscape is forced to close
due to Runtime error. Until now it was working, but don't know if ever I
changed preferences or something else and paint bucket has started
malfunctioning. Please help!
Or am I at wrong place to ask this question?
Thanks and regards!
Just installed Sabayon Linux with a KDE desktop... I installed Inkscape
0.48. When I go to File --> Import... expecting to find import clip
art... not there. Question: What to do to enable it...? (I pasted
'openclipart.org' in the import/export preferences, didn't help).
Thanks for any advice.
