can't save as dxf

When I try saving a plain SVG file into DXF format, Inkscape locks up
on me. This happens with .45.1 on my Mac PowerPC G4 1.33 GHz w/ 1GB
RAM 10.4.11 w/ 11 GB free and with the 27 October autopackage version
on Xubuntu Linux 7.10 with Celeron D 2.93 GHz with 512 MB RAM. No
other problems.

Fedora Package Maintainer

Hello,
Denis Leroy e-mail me off list and mentioned that he's no longer
interested in maintaining the Fedora package of Inkscape. If there is
any other Fedora packagers that are willing to pick it up, that'd be
great. I'm not sure of other Fedora lists that this should be posted
to, but if people could forward it to those that would be great.

what is the best way to include Inkscape graphics into LaTeX documents?

I have several options:
1 - export as a large png and then include that: works, but it's not
optimal (not scale-free, for instance)
2 - export as eps: somehow, I can't ever get the graphics to fit in the
figure block that I create. The image is always way too big (i.e. it's
not properly scaled to fit in).
3 - export as pdf: same problem as eps.
Would it help to define a page border or limits that exactly wraps the
entire drawing? My drawings are usually larger than the page limits.
If so, it would be great to have such a checkbox when exporting to pdf
or eps: create page border to fit drawing.
Any help appreciated.

including art in a text block?

Hi all,
I'd like to include svg art in a text block. Something like:
A-->B
...where '-->' is an arrow that I draw using the line tool. I would like
that art to flow with text, staying always between the A and the B, even
when I change the text. Is this possible under inkscape? (Note I don't just
want to use arrows, so the solution of using a font with an arrow character
won't address my problem). Do I need to create a custom font with the
relevant art in it, or is there an easier solution?

export to bitmap not working

I just installed 0.45 and I have a problem. I tried exporting my page, a
flyer, to pgn, but it did not work.
My flyer has many different text objects and one imported jpeg. Now,
when I exported it to bitmap the resulting png it was totally black
EXCEPT for the imported jpeg, it was correct. But again, the rest of the
page is totally black.
Why is the export not working correctly?

In Windows XP I see them as real regular thumnails in the Windows
Explorer. Problem is, they don't scale. So, using a 128x128 thumbnail size,
my 32x32 icons stay insignificantly small in the upper left corner. But
it is great help browsing them.
I installed the player, but I only see the svg icons and not thumbnails. Also each time
I tried the player it kept crashing. With the message of Renesis player has encountered
and error and needs to close.
