Applying current transform to path

Does anyone know a way to make the current transforms on a path apply themselves to the nodes? In other words I want the "transform" attribute of the path to be the identity matrix. (after first applying itself to the nodes in the path) You can trick it to happen by Ctrl-K joining with another path, then splitting again but I was wondering if there was a more direct way. pattern not into pdf

hello all I was just finishing another cave map. It is a sandstone cave, so there is a lot of sand on the ground, which is represented by small dots (circles). I created a pattern from some circles to represent the sand, and applied it to a large polygon area. fine. now I export it to a pdf and the pattern is gone! So I tried to convert the pattern to an object, in the hope that this would create lots of small circles where they where in the pattern, but it just made the original set of circles again.. Best way to convert Inkscape to PDF?

Hi all, I've created a schematic of a motor control circuit in Inkscape, and want to convert it to PDF. File-Save_as and then picking PDF for file type produces an image extremely pixelated on all curves, especially when viewed with Ghostview. Acroread looks better but is still pixulated on curves. It prints fine, but I want to use it as a presentation tool, so it must view well on the computer. Exporting as bitmap (.png) and then converting to PDF was even worse. File->save_as postscript and encapsulated postscript, and then converting with ps2pdf was also pixelated. The least pixelated result I got was to save as XCF (Gimp native format), open with Gimp, save as postscript, then ps2pdf. In Acroread it looked great at all zoom levels, and in ghostview it looked great at 100%, and halfway decent at other zoom levels. However, it converted it to portrait and cut off the left side. I can fix that with a known workaround that if needbe, but before I go to all this trouble, I'm wondering if any of you know a good way to make a high quality, non-pixelated PDF from an Inkscape drawing. Fwd: tablet support question: UC-LOGIC 9x12 and e3works tablet compatibility

Hi, I've just installed the Inkscape. I have e3works 5x3 tablet. It was detected by the Inkscape and is listed under the devices. The only thing is that the Y axis is inverted for some reason: you move the pen down, the cursor moves in the opposite direction, ie up. The axis is inverted right around the middle of the page. To explain more, if you pick the freehand tool and place it at the top edge of the 'paper', the drawing will start from the bottom edge of the screen (while the 'pen' cursor itself will be at the top, where it should be). As you move the pen down, the line is being drawn from bottom up. As you close the center of the page the cursor 'meets' the line. As you keep on drawing past the center of the page, the cursor goes down while the line itself keeps on going towards the top. The tablet worked OK with other Vector or Bitmap graphic editors (PaintShopPro, Xara, etc) I tried. Is it smth that can be fixed through the configuration or it's a bug? Also, I'm planning to get UC-LOGIC 9x12 tablet. I wonder if anyone has used this tablet with the Inkscape and if everything works properly with it... Thanks, Vlad

Install latest development build package

Hi, I have Fedora 7 and want to install the latest development build (autopackage based installation package). I don't know whether my install will go file on Linux if I download the autopackage. Isn't there a simple directory installation that I can simply download and copy in one of my directories? Like the one you have for Windows? It would be great if you could point me to such a directory installation tarball? Otherwise, I fear that after downloading I will fall into resolving the dependency hell. -- Best regards, Asif

Fill with multiple outline segments

I'd like to be able to create a single filled object whose outline has multiple segments, with the multiple segments having different colours and styles. I have a fudged example at http://audilab.bmed.mcgill.ca/~funnell/test_fill_multsegs.svg where I've overlaid 2 objects to get the desired visual effect. Is there a way to do this in such a way that I can later edit the shape of the outline and have the fill adjusted automatically? Thanks.

Gray screen after launching Inkscape and X11

Hi, I am new to the list. I have just downloaded Inkscape (Inkscape-16090-i386.dmg) on my imac. I use OSX 10.4.10 and I followed very closely the steps and installed the X11 from the installation DVD. When I opened Inkscape, it launched with X11. However the screen that I see is only a gray screen with the Inkscape window (pls see attached picture). I cannot see my desktop nor other applications. Is it normal? I want to have Inkscape working with other application without the necessary quitting Inkscape. Please help. Thanks.

Hi all, Using RPM files found on pbone.net, I just installed a newer Inkscape. But when I do help->about_inkscape, it says it's 0.45, built Feb 6, 2007. Is that the latest stable Inkscape? PDF Creation

Hi all, I have two files to insert into latex document, which I would like to insert as PDF (not eps or png, those work just fine). They are both attached. All my tries were in vain, from blank PDFs (saving directly to PDF) to corrupted PDFs (plain SVG -> IM convert), or cut images (eps -> ps2pdf). Any ideas on how to get these to PDF?
