incomplete dfont support

It seems to me that support for Mac OS X dfont font type is incomplete. I can only access the Regular font weight, but not bold, light, etc. Cheers Sebastian

blender-like navigation in inkscape

Hi list, Lately I gave blender a try and was really impressed by its GUI. Blender is known to be hard for beginners, but I believe advanced users can be really productive there. I especially like the three shorcuts: g (grab/move) s (scale) r (rotate) They all work for an active object. Take the rotate operation - it is faster than inkscape's: 1) double click the object 2) select the rotation handle I wonder if it would be possible to create a blender-like, alternative shortcut-theme. This is not a complain against inkscape's GUI - it is great and I can be productive with it, but won't you agree blender's GUI would be faster for advanced users? regards, Karol

Inkscape doesn't use the preferred language on OS X

I can't get Inkscape to use the preferred language on OS X -- the UI always stay in English no matter what language is set the System Preferences. I'm using the latest versions of Inkscape (0.44.1) and OS X (10.4.7). (The behavior was the same under 10.4.4.) Any way to (re)solve this? g. -- Guillaume Grenier - grenier.g@...2018... Terrible crashes in 44.1

I've just installed 44.1 and discovered, to my great dismay, that on my system (Windows XP SP2) it crashes every 5 minutes. Unfortunately, I deleted my installation of 44.0, which used to work fine. Is there any place from which I can download 44.0?

The burden of searching

I'm using Inkscape for many issues and over the years a large quantity of SVG graphics has amassed themselves spread over different folders. While I'm reusing many pieces I find myself in a situation previewing folder after folder in the open-dialog. This is very unsufficient because it steals time for real artworking. I've tried 'inkview' but when I find the right graphic I have to remind folder & filename and all that sequential. Then I tried SOC project "clipart browser" [1], which seems to be the best approach to find graphics. It works fine with a local and OCAL[2] repository and searches also for svg-keywords. clipartbrowser shoud be a part of inkscape. I can also imagine to integrate 'tagging'-functionality seen on social bookmarks projects or OCAL's new cchost[3]. Printing Banners/Posters

For those who print custom sized documents using Inkscape, I ran across another app which seems to work very well printing BOTH banners AND posters. Check out Posteriza 1.1.1 (www.posteriza.com). So far this app has printing everything I've drawn (if thats what you can call my attempts to draw). I can enlarge to HUGE sizes. Save your Inkscape document as either a bmp or png file (the two I've tried to date). Open in Posteriza, make the size changes, and print away (and yes, HPs can print banners - I've finally had success with mine - I say this for my benefit. I was ready to throw the printer out the window). I sincerely hope that others can use this information. I've received so much support as I attempt to print odd sized things, I want to repay in any way that I can. Inkscape is very cool and fits absolutly perfectly in my class where students just love it. Now that I can print their work with no porblems (so far), the kids are almost too excited. different font sizes in Scribus and Inkscape

When I print out the same text phrase in both Inkscape (0.44) and Scribus (1.3.3), using the same pt. sizes and typestyle, they come out looking different. The Inkscape printout is noticeably smaller than Scribus. Any tips as to how I can remedy this situation? Thanks, Wayne
