It looks to me as if gtkmm isn't used (other than in the ecma directory, which isn't used yet). Try changing ink_gtkmm_pkg=gtkmm-2.0 to ink_gtkmm_pkg= in configure.in (if you have autoconf installed) or configure (if you don't). Let us know how you go. I suggest writing just to inkscape-devel(a)lists.sourceforge.net rather than inkscape-user. > Also, which gtkmm should I install: 2.0-2.2, or 2.4 ? Can't move objects horizontally

Hello guys! I just found this excellent piece of software from SourceForge and I really love it! Thanks. But I am experiencing one small problem: I can only move object vertically with the mouse cursor but cannot move it horizontally. I can move it both ways using the arrow keys on the keyboard without problem, though. What could be the problem? FYI, I have builts inkscape from source through Gentoo's portage. Thanks. --- Koyi

Quick note that we're just a few days from being able to finalize the release. Please download and try out the pre4 version to doublecheck that it will work for you, and report to the bug tracker of issues found. RFE proposal

Hey, this idea might already be an RFE. Someone tell me what to do! When I select multiple objects and set the HUE or SATURATION (actually, any of the controls on the color picker) then I want the control to apply to each object without changing the other parameters. For example, I have two squares, one red and one blue. If I change the saturation then the hue should not change. The red square should stay red and the blue square should stay blue, only the saturation of the blue and red should change. A problem about the PNG export

Hi all, just a little problem about the PNG export : the SVG src : http://florentgabriel.ouvaton.org/temporaire/Verre.svg and the smally generated PNG : http://florentgabriel.ouvaton.org/temporaire/Verre.svg.png There is a problem with the stroke of the glass: at this small size, it seems to be less black than the parasol's stroke... Does anyone know a way to solve this problem ? Florent

illustrator import with image support

hi, I've been improving ill2svg.pl script like it supports embbedded images export from illustrator file. It only works with 16bit images (24 also i guess). Naming policy is kinda stupid right now starts from 0.png to xx.png until all the images are exported. If you have such files please test it and let me know. There is 2 files: ill2svg_image.pl is the script ill2svg_image.diff is diff file to current CVS situation. You also need ImageMagick perl module! Check from http://www.cpan.org how to get it from CPAN if you don't have it. test usage (linux): Download ill2svg_image.pl chmod +x ill2svg_image.pl ./ill2svg_image.pl image_file.ai > image_file.svg inkscape image_file.svg test usage (windows): Haven't done this;) Would be something like this perl ill2svg_image.pl image_file.ai > image_file.svg start inkscape Tuukka

Hmm, which version of Inkscape are you using. Bulia changed the selection markers so that they are complete inverses of what is under them - so they should be easier to see. Inkscape 0.39pre3

Has been put on to Sourceforge (actually it happened last night, but I forgot to write the e-mail :) This signals the feature freeze for 0.39, and the start of bug fixing. Hey guys, I don't know that it is obvious from Tuukka's e-mail, but this is something that we really need user's help on. The problem is that most of the developers don't use Illustrator (they use Inkscape :) ) so we don't have a good collection of Illustrator files to test this out with. I'm convinced that we have lots of users that use both Illustrator and Inkscape, or used Illustrator in the past. This makes having Illustrator import capability very important. So, seriously, if anyone has any Illustrator files, please test them against this Perl script. Don't think that someone else will do it. --Ted
