New translators mailing list for Inkscape

Heya all, We've set up a brand new mailing list for Inkscape translators. You can subscribe to it here: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/inkscape-translator The purpose of this list is to discuss localization and translation issues of Inkscape and its documentation. Here's a sampling of specific topics the translators have proposed discussing on the list: - where are we ? (what are the translation status ? Which languages need some more commitment...) - where do we (translators) usually face some issues ? (specific vocabulary, synchronization with development...) - get some best practices from the ML and then, write them down on the wiki - share experiences on specific blocking points - take a look at the various tasks, on different levels : (core software strings, tutorials, text docs, web pages...) Hi, I am interested in having an option to start inkview fullscreen + have left/right mouse buttons change slides. I could try to code that. I can see inkscape got --slideshow option - are there plans to integrate inkview into inkscape? I hope not. Karol

Printing dialog doesn't display

I've got inkscape 0.43 (april 13 2006) running on freeBSD 6.0/kde 3.5.2 I'd like to set print parameters. When I select print the page goes straight to the printer. In this case it is an A4 page in landscape mode, it gets printed in portrait mode. malcolm

saving palette settings and random tree positining

I really like the new palette at the bottom of my screen. But..., I noticed that Inkscape does not remember my Palette settings after I have quit Inkscape. Is that intentional? Another question: Why does the random tree (as in effects) always appear (at least in my latest CVS inkscape version) at the top left corner *above* the page boundaries, instead of the center of the page. The latter would IMO be more user friendly. Finally: When I select to fill an object with a radial gradient, Inkscape always selects to have the full transparency at the borders of the object and the none-transparency at the center of the object. That is fine, but often I just need to have it the other way around. What I do it manually edit the radial gradient to get it my way. It there a 'one-click' way to quickly reverse the gradient? These are really minor issues, but any advice is highly appreciated. Thanks.
