Wacom problems
by Docsonic
I just got a Wacom Intuos3 tablet and I am trying to set it up properly for
Inkscape on Win XP SP2 (fully patched).
At first pressure setting wouldn't work so I downloaded the latest build
(Oct 18, 2007) and it works great! However, the mouse doesn't work at all
properly - it seems to be using the pen settings. I have tried other
programs (Gimp, Flash etc) to make sure it isn't a setting I have wrong but
they all seem to work correctly. I do have a profile set up in the Wacom
prefs for the pen in Inkscape but the mouse is using the default settings.
Has anyone else come across this and if so, what can I do to fix it?
It's great having the pen but I can't double-click guides with the pen so
there are times that the mouse is useful.
Thanks,
Tony

Drawing short arcs?
by Jim Ford
Is there an easy way to draw short arcs through a defined angle and
radius/diameter, please?
Arcs can be drawn with the circle command, but whilst the angle is
displayed when drawing, the diameter isn't.

Drawing boxes around objects?
by Keith Trnka
I'm looking to do two things and I can't tell if it's reasonable or
possible from any online documentation, and I'm wondering if anyone's
had a similar problem or found a solution. The gist of what I'm
doing is making drafts of user interfaces with Inkscape.
The first thing I'm trying to do is have text with a border around
it. If it's possible to somehow draw a box at the outset of the
bounding box, that'd be perfect.
The second thing is similar, but for groups of objects. But instead
of needing to draw a box at the outset of the bounding box for groups
of objects, it's like I need to merge each object's outset-box. For
example, say I have three objects in an L-shape. I'd need the border
to also be L-shaped.
Does anyone know if it's possible in Inkscape or has anyone done this?
thanks,
keith

How do I make text transparent, or, cut text out of a shape?
by Mick Nelson
For example, picture a "Property Of" t-shirt. There is usually a rectangle in the middle with XXL inside it.
How do I make the rectangle, have the XXL on the inside such that the color of the shirt shows through?
Forgive me if this is simple, but I just started to learn this sort of stuff.

Making the stroke line to be inside a shape
by zemane
Hi,
I am new to Inkscape but I am loving it!
I noticed that when I draw a shape, e.g., a rectangle, and add a stroke line
to it, the line gets thicker/thin with its center on the shape's border,
i.e., the
line grows thicker both inwards and outwards the shape.
Is there any way I could make the stroke line in a shape grow inwards only,
so that adding a stroke line would not increase the drawing's dimensions?
Thanks for a great product!
