Re: [Inkscape-user] interpolate texte in .47 version
by Gary Hawkins
have a look at this pdf. this is how I do it, sorry not to attach it before
but had trouble finding it LOL
it's not my pdf but this is how I do a scalloped font. you can use your own
shape instead of the circle, of course.
not sure if the attachment will go to the group but you can find it here.

the pdf is at the end of the post.

File -> Inkscape Preferences...
Has a tab: Import/Export
where you can set the default export resolution. I don't know if this
will help.

Ok thank-you you.
So, my only solution is a workaround? I am thinking of downscaling the image to fix the bounding box...

The size difference between the two files is confirmed. The bounding boxes
for the two .svg files are given below.
Illustrator - width="194.284px" height="75.238px"
Inkscape - width="242.855" height="94.04725"
The ratio of the sizes is exactly 1.25 which equals 90/72, which equals the
size ratio of a point to a pixel. It looks as though Inkscape has probably
assumed that the original dimensions were given in points, and has probably
converted them to pixels by multiplying by 90/72, which is a reasonable
thing to do. (However, I know nothing about Illustrator, so I don't know if
the native units in Illustrator are points or not.)

Export SVG: Size doesnt match original file
by Tobias Schulz
Hi,
i use inkscape to convert Illustrator-AI-Files to SVG and noticed some
size difference between the original ai-file and the converted svg-file.
The converted file is about 1cm bigger. I tried command line and GUI.
If i use Adobe Illustrator to save the AI-File to SVG there everything
works fine. The Image size of SVG and AI match.
thanks!

command-line export SVG with area-drawing: Workaround via PDF, but exported area is wrong!
by Tobias Schulz
Hi,
i have to export an Adobe-Illustrator (AI) file to SVG with export
option "export-area-drawing". I know this option is not available on
SVG-Files jet.
So i tried a workaround.... I exorted the AI file as PDF with
area-drawing and then to SVG. This works fine, but.......
the exported area in the pdf file is wrong.... the image is truncated...
2 px from image top are repeated at the bottom....
So, the easiest way to solve my problem would be to use
"export-area-drawing" on SVG files. but the roadmap doesnt say whether
this option is possible in the future....or does it?
