For consistency reasons - all three path tools (pencil/freehand,
pen/bezier, calligraphy) currently show the same behavior - IMHO any
change for the bezier tool with regard to finishing instead of
cancelling the current path on tool switch should be applied to the
pencil and calligraphy tool, too.
Contrary to the original subject of this thread, AFAICT the issue does
_not_ affect the shape tools (rectangle, ellipse/circle, star/polygon,
spiral).

End shape tool with tool switch
by Samuel Buttigieg
Hello all Users,
I was wondering if anyone was effected by this small bug(if you can call it
one):
https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/171500
Basically it means that if you switch from one tool to another before
pressing enter, the shape/path drawn is destroyed.
I don't know if it is intentional or not but I am interested in fixing it.
I am looking for your opinions, be it in favor or against, so that if a lot
of people appose this idea I won't waste any time on it.
Thanks for your time.
Regards,
Samuel

Bug in V 0.47?
by Abrolag
Just realised that when drawing lines with snap to grid enabled, the very first
point in a line is not snapped, but all the later ones are. Has anyone else
noticed this?

Say you have a poem and I have a tune.
Exchange them and we can both have a poem, a tune, and a song.

Re: [Inkscape-user] svg, web pages and video.

John: Is it really necessary to make everything in SVG? It would be
pretty easy to put the SVG in a div container and an html5 video
player in other and make them overlap with css.

Inkscape 0.48.2 is out!
by Josh Andler
Hey All,
I just realized that apparently my brain was not working right a week
and a half ago when announcing everywhere else, I forgot to notify the
user list! I apologize greatly!
After 5 months of bug fixing and vacation delays out of our control,
the Inkscape Community is proud to announce that Inkscape 0.48.2 is
out. This is our second bug fix release for 0.48 and it contains over
60 bug fixes to improve stability and functionality on all platforms.
Check out the milestone page (
https://launchpad.net/inkscape/+milestone/0.48.2 ) for the full list
of closed bug reports, or just jump right to downloading your package
for Windows, Linux or Mac OS X ( http://inkscape.org/download/ ).
We are also determined to make at least one more point release before
it's time for 0.49. Stay tuned for more news!
If you are a Windows user it is highly recommended to upgrade as it
includes a security fix to a library we use.
Cheers,
Josh

Icon Set - 16x16 px - good for laptops
by Plácido Sousa
Hi all,
for those interested here is a svg file with inskape iconset optimized for
16x16 px, specially useful if you're using a laptop with less resolution.
to install the file copy it to
"/usr/share/inkscape/icons/" in linux.
or
"c;/programs/inkscape/share/icons/" in windows.
to change the icons size goto:
file - inkscape preferences- interface and choose smaller for all toolbars.
The file is not particularly optimized since its a work in progress - feel
free to use it and change it.
enjoy.
